That guy from the Miami paper mentioned positive reviews from other critics. Proof to me these critics enjoy the attention of contrarians.
So he dislikes the film because RDJ is a republican?...
Um, Jeff Wells... what in the actual ****?!?!
I. Cannot. Even. In a friggin' film review. Is this guy on RT?

He's an idiot who has been crying about RDJ forever.
I love RDJ and don't care what his politics are one way or the other. I don't watch actors for their politics and won't be boycotting films just because an actor doesn't believe what I believe. I would never watch anything if I had that silly standard. The funny thing is, people like him stand up for sleaze like Roman Polanski but have trouble with watching films with Republicans?
I'm pretty freakin left leaning and I just don't care about what RDJ believes one way or the other and other people shouldn't and don't care either.
Arnold is a Republican and I still love em and will be seeing The Expendables 2 with bells on.Same here. I'm a total progressive. I read somewhere that Gary Oldman was a conservative (right around the time The Contender was released). Do I consider him one of my favorite actors of all time? Absolutely. Will I be there opening night for TDKR. You betcha!
Politics and personal beliefs won't get in my way of objectively enjoying a performance of my favorite actors or my favorite musicians. I love Beck and Tom Cruise, even though they're Scientologists.
Any critic who is petty enough to let stuff like that interfere with their job has no business being a film critic.
RDJ is pretty private with his politics, which is how I wish most people in Hollywood would be. Hollywood is nearly 90% liberal so why does this nutjob care about one guy who stands out from the rest?
WHAT???![]()
(4) Robert Downey, Jr.'s Tony Stark/Iron Man has the best quips...surprise! But he's still a Republican, and I just couldn't shake that as I watched. "Tony Stark is a Republican who probably supports Romney," etc. Over and over and over in my head.
But I don't think The Avengers is important enough to warrant an in-depth review, especially given my general loathing of comic-book superhero movies
It's going to be hilarious if Marvel (& DC) can create a persistent film universe and keep turning out films perpetually. Make him repeat this discrediting statement enough and he'll be found out eventually. Then maybe you shouldn't be writing movie reviews at all you ****ing halfwit.

This guy seems extremely unprofessional, and I wonder who in their right mind actually hired him and pay him salary to come up with turd of a review like this one. Unfortunately, his lousily-written review will probably show up in RT and ended up shaving another .5 percentage off TA's fresh rating.![]()

It's mildly irritating until I think about the ridiculous amount of bank this film will rake in and the sequels we will be getting![]()
