As a former Boston gal, I'm glad Morris enjoyed the film.
Yay! Glad to see the positives are back on track![]()
Here's the thing -- the positives were always on track. The Avengers has garnered praise from the vast majority of critics, but sometimes we let the small percentage of bad reviews outweigh all that good in our minds. Over the last two days I've found maybe a dozen positive reviews from critics listed on RT that haven't yet been added there. And there are only 8 negative ones out of 124 thus far.
This movie is a success on every possible level. To see a movie I've waited all my life for be so amazingly good is extremely satisfying to me. I'm enjoying this just as much as I would seeing my team win the Super Bowl.

something tells me you wouldn't have even written that if I hadn't said anything. To make a long story short, I agree with Andrew O'heir's review. The film is entertaining, but it's more of the same old thing that Hollywood has been spouting out for the majority of comic book films. It's very uninspired. Doesn't even try to offer anything more than "popcorn", you can't honestly tell me that there was character development in the film, there was none.. or that the plot wasn't predictable and uninteresting, that's exactly what it was. If comic fans, like myself, don't start asking for better quality films, they're going to get the same old, boring, heartless, spectacle over and over again.
