Infinity War The Avengers: Infinity War The Official News and Speculation - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Part 29

It's already been stated that such material on Thanos' backstory was abandoned at the script stage, meaning it was never filmed.

What would you even need deleted scenes about that aren't just moments we already got in the film?
Well I can't be the only person that would have liked to see the Siege of Xandar.

They haven't shared an extended cut of their films so far, and they don't even pay much attention to the blu-rays and the extras.
But...
If, *if*, there are extended cuts somewhere in their vaults, they are saving it for special editions ten years from now. At least that is how my "business mind" works. They say there are a couple of deleted scenes for the dvd's and that's it, but they are secretly saving some for a future "8K Ultra Hd Restored HFR Mega Combo Pack Edition".

Just saw it for my 7th and last time in the theaters since most of my theaters have taken it out.

So one line kind of got to me this time, I didn't think about it much my other viewing. When Shuri was working on Vision and saying something why didn't you just connect the neurons like this? to Banner. I am sure the line was to show off Shuri's intellect but when you actually think about Banner's response of "We didn't think about it" it makes no sense at all. Ultron created Vision and did that whole process, none of the Avengers had a part in the development of Vision's body the process was all Ultron and the doctor being controlled. Minor thing but a different line could have been used to not make Banner seem dumb and like Ultron didn't create Vision.

Having recently (re)watched Infinity War, there's only one sequence that I actually dislike, and that's the one where everyone is in the forest fighting Thanos (how did they all get there so quick) except for Thor who arrives at the end - baring in mind he's arguably one of the fastest people on the ground considering his hammer can pull him off.

I didn't like it either, but I think Thor was preoccupied destroying the remaining Outriders while Thanos arrived.

You might be. Or just one other person. But for the purposes of the film, given what we got, it's not necessary for the plot the Russos told. Same as the deleted scenes. That or cut for time. Otherwise, they would be in the final product.

In that Collider interview, that is what the writer's said. I think they also said Xandar wasn't filmed either. I think not including Xandar's siege is fine. Show it in a Nova movie or something.

If they still did one shots the Xandar stuff would be one.

Before Infinity War came out, if you had asked me what the opening of the film would be, I'd have guessed Thanos laying waste to Xandar and taking the Power Stone. It would have made for an awesome post-credits scene but the only film I could think of putting it in leading to Infinity War would be Guardians Vol. 2, and given how upbeat the credits were it wouldn't have really fit. I don't know if there's a place for it in Captain Marvel either. I think as it is, it's too late to show it moving forward unless they go back to it as a flashback or something in Avengers 4. While I'd have liked to see it, I can understand why it wasn't included. Same with the Reality Stone. We can already infer what happened with what we saw.

If the Avengers [blackout] are hopping through time to gather the stones, we might still get to see it in A4. Maybe that's why they didn't show it in this movie. So it wouldn't be redundant with what we'll see in the next movie.

Which could also set up a Rich Rider Nova movie.[/blackout]

I did always wonder exactly how the Guardians happened to arrive on Titan, and this makes sense, though was it ever explicitly stated in the film, or is this just what makes sense so we're all running with it?

In any case, Rocket, Thor and Groot were already preoccupied, or maybe the power of that star blocked out radio signals or whatever - who knows? One thing is for certain though, Thor knew Thanos was going to Earth, and he knows people there; it made sense that Thor would go straight to Earth as soon as he was ready.

What would have sucked however, is if Thor was running late and upon his entrance, Thanos snapped his fingers and Thor was erased too.

Lol.. yeah.. You are right of course, but I can see why the movie will be much less engaging if any of these happened though.

Vision's body was created by Ultron but his neural schema was basically done by Stark and Banner, by placing Jarvis in there. So apart from the mind stone, Vision's intelligence was basically what was there with Jarvis, Stark and Banner. Hence that line. It was obviously played for laughs and to establish Shuri's intellectual superiority but it does make sense storywise.

So Feige confirmed Thanos killed half of all life, including animals. Which is dumb since Thanos was trying to preserve resources and animals are part of an ecosystem.

But he is the Mad Titan.

Here's all the different cover art. It's shocking how lazy the Best Buy Steelbook looks. The Target exclusive is cool but the problem I have with that artwork is that Thanos isn't on it.

Like the rest of the MCU, it'll be the standard Blu-ray for me.

Neat covers!

Unfortunately, all the releases here in the UK will go with the regular theatrical poster cover. Only Zavvi will be selling the Thanos Steelbook edition (no good for me as I don't have 3D TV).

And we get it even later - September 3rd...

Also, is it only my OCD, or it looks TERRIBLE that the 3-movie collection has the logos and names of A1 and IW swapped? Whoever did this needs to fix it as soon as possible before people actually buy that. That's apparently OFFICIAL and all over for pre-order at major UK retailers:

I pre-ordered the Best Buy steelbook in 4K. I'm not a fan of the art on it but it was hard to pass up.

Can't wait to watch it again on my 4K TV in about a month though!

I'll wait on the Phase 3 boxset. Hopefully it'll be a 4K release.

But he is the Mad Titan.

If Thanos was genuinely that concerned with the consequences of overpopulation, he could've just used the IG to create additional resources. Thing is, all that talk of maintaining balance was merely his specious and/or delusional way of justifying universal genocide, which I'm sure was the intention of the filmmakers.

Politicians do this sort of thing all the time so as to get what they want w/o alienating their base; low information voters eat it up.

Internet is gonna be full of Infinity War HQ gifs and I'm ready for it.

I've liked a good deal of the Best Buy MCU steelbooks, but I don't collect them because they aren't consistent. Some look amazing, like Spider-Man: Homecoming, for example:

And others are just kind of meh like the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 steelbook:

Wow, super disappointed about the steelbook cover, but at the end of the day, it's just a cover, one that doesn't happen to reflect the magnificence of the film inside.
