The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 1

That's because Bale is one inch taller, according to IMDB.

And they're on the uneven beach. There are other shots we're they're even closer in height.

It's clearly a moot issue.

Bale looks like Jebus in this movie. Scary...

It feels like the old Superman casting thread all over again.

Boo, I thought we were rid of this guy when Superman was finally cast.

Wes Bentley would make an okay Nightwing but he's not physically intimidating enough to play Batman.

and then there's the issue of on screen presence.

Fassbenders taken. Try again.

For once, I agree with Rockstar (actually, I have no beef with him other than the Amy Adams thing). Fassbender isn't going to play Batman because he's Magneto. Bond still might be a possibility sometime down the road, but I doubt that too.
Yeah, because a new Batman film and the X-Men films will take place in the SAME EXACT UNIVERSE am I correct? Really, people have got to stop saying that if an actor has already played a character in a comic book movie, they shouldn't play another, even if it's not even in the same universe. Chris Evans did it, why can't anyone else?

actors who are openly gay cannot play superheroes
Then Rockstar can go **** himself as he is a homophobic piece of ****. I have friends that are gay and would be very appalled by his comment. (I'm not talking to you Eddie Dean)

Well that was a ridiculously stupid and insulting statement, Rockstar.
Hopefully you don't remain as stupid as that statement is.

And what statement are you referring to?
Forgetting about this already?
In Rockstar's world there are three constants - Amy Adams is a disgusting old hag, actors who are openly gay cannot play superheroes and Michael Fassbender entered into some sort of indentured servitude agreement with the X-Men First Class producers.
Your response to that;
Universal truths.

Like I said, I hope you're still not that ignorantly stupid.

Don't get your panties in a twist.

A sarcastic post like his required a sarcastic response. That is all.

Considering I don't wear panties, nothing twisted on this end.
Except his post wasn't sarcastic, it was an honest assessment of your posts on the three subjects he mentioned.

It was hyperbole at its finest.

The only thing I mentioned about the gay topic was that Warner Bros would probably have reservations about an openly gay actor playing Batman.

Eddie Dean amusingly reinterpreted that as "actors who are openly gay cannot play superheroes."

Consequently resulting in my sarcastic reply.

I can't think of any reason why WB would have reservations about casting a gay actor as Batman.

Arguing with Rockstar is sort of pointless. I mostly ignore his homophobic and sexist nature and wait for him to be banned. He'll pop up under a name a few months later and the cycle repeats.

Bad publicity.

The studio had to deal with lots of fallout when they had a gay director doing Superman.

It's just the nature of Hollywood and the media. It would be easier to avoid such controversy.

Bad publicity was actually the reason WB and Nolan ditched Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes (during her crazy Tom Cruise days). It's important to studios.

That's just a terrible magazine, not worth the time of day.

Agreed. But it managed to get a lot of press. Even CNN was running with the story.

Reporters on red carpets were asking Bryan if Superman was gay and he was sweating bullets.
