I think Andrew Scott, aka Moriarty, should play the Joker. He'd be terrific.

Everyone says Crispin Glover in every single fan cast. I have yet to see the man do anything other than play a creep. :o

Batman - Joel Edgerton (Warrior)

Great actor. So good at portraying tough guys with souls. He could easily play an established, beat-up, but still badass Batman.

Alfred - John Cleese (Monty Python)

There's no one who can capture Aflred's wit and heart like Cleese can.

Gordon - Jeff Daniels (The Lookout)

Such an underrated actor. Can bring real humanity and toughness to Gordon.

Joker - Sharlto Copley (District 9)

No one plays unhinged better.

Riddler - Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man)

No one plays "one step ahead" like Stuhlbarg. He'd make Nigma as memorable a villain as Se7en's John Doe.

Mr. Freeze - Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad)

Admittedly, I just want to see Gus Fring take on Batman.

Catwoman - Paula Patton (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol)

Sexy and believably tough.

Two-Face - Joaquin Phoenix (Walk The Line)

Now that he's got that rapping performance art out of his system, I want to see Phoenix play a role in the new Batman-verse. Dent is perfect for an actor with such range.

Penguin - Timothy Spall (The Last Samurai)

Need I say more?

Timothy Spall makes me think of the Mad Hatter actually.

Gillian Jacobs - Harley Quinn

Jeremy Davies - Scarecrow

Jim Caviezel as Batman, Andrew Scott as Joker, Joaquin Phoenix as Two-Face, Hush or Black Mask (he really could play either one...), Bryan Cranston as Jim Gordon, Michael C Hall as Riddler, Jared Harris as Hugo Strange and Ralph Fiennes as Ras Al-Ghul.

Doomsday suggested Edgar Ramirez as Batman. If he can continue to work on his American accent, I could get onboard with that in a heartbeat.

Joaquin Phoenix is a genious casting for two face.
Timothy Spall is not so much a penguin as it is an overweigth mad hatter.

He's definitely got the talent for it, he's got the presence and he's certainly got the jaw:

All he needs to work on is the accent. That's definitely a big question mark with him, but his accent is relatively light (far from a Cruz/Dujardin situation), and he's pretty linguistically gifted (fluent in 5 languages), so I believe if he put the work in, he could do it.

His accent's not too thick. Working closely with a dialect coach ought to do the trick.

Yeah, his accent isn't thick at all. I mean, if Bale could do it then I'm confident that Ramirez could as well. WB could easily hook him up with a top-notch accent coach.

If anything Ramirez is Bane. Accent and all.

Matthew Fox for Batman, watch "Speed Racer" his voice for racer x is ideal for batman and hes a good actor.

After seeing what Fox looks like in Cross, I definitely have him on the list for quite a few superhero roles.

I'm still into Jeffery Donovan for Batman. I want the thought narrative and he does that great in Burn Notice and he could do Batman incognito i.e. Matches Malone.

I would be on board with Ramirez. They could even have Batman speak multiple languages like he does in the comics then! I always wanted to see him do that...

Firstly, how does an actor's background have a major effect on the character?

secondly, any actor can have a part written for them to be able to speak multi languages.

and third, where does anything ever arise for Batman to speak multi language, and not be some contrived way just to show it off? :hehe:

He's also gay.

I like him and think he would make a good Batman. But after everything Grant Morrison said about Batman being gay, and just everything else that's been said about Batman and Robin over the decades, it would cause major publicity problems for WB. So it's likely they'll stay clear of gay actors for the role.
