The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 1

Well, I thought he was good in The Passion of the Christ and The Count of Monte Cristo, but everything else I've seen him in, he's either forgettable or just plain bad. I tried watching this really awful movie he was in called Nature's Grave and he came off like such a cheeseball. He acted like the poor man's Eric Roberts (which is sad because Eric Roberts is the poor man's Eric Roberts). Granted, the movie was horrible, but it was made worse by his bad acting.

Timothy Spall as either Mad Hatter or Penguin. He would do either fantastically.

You've never seen The Thin Red Line then? That's his best performance, easily. It's a fantastic performance in general.

Mostly good stuff. A few "holy hell please no," but almost entirely good.

How about that new dude who's in the 300 prequel, MINUS 300?

Sullivan Stapleton.

He needs a bigger film resume before being considered.

He does have the lead in...MINUS 300? XD

That's bound to gain him some interest

This choice is a bit controversial, but I think he might have the right edge for the role after Bale.

Wes_Bentley.jpg

Wes Bentley. He recently got over his drug addiction and seems to be making headlines for getting back on track with his career.

He has a good list of films coming out soon, including the highly anticipated Hunger Games:

He's got the Bruce Wayne look.

His facial hair in The Hunger Games is absolutely ridiculous. I love it. Between this and his side burns in Jonah Hex, I don't think it would be fair to hide that gift from God behind a mask.

I've been saying for a year now that Wes Bentley should be Batman. He was Aronofsky's pick for the Year One project some years ago. Aronofsky obviously saw something.

I dont know if I like the idea of a former junkie playing Batman :/

But I do believe in redemption...

I don't see the issue of him being a former junkie, considering he's a former junkie.

Robert Downey Jr. didn't have the best reputation before Iron Man.

And Aronofsky would be a great choice to direct the Batman reboot.

He was on Nolan's shortlist for Man of Steel, but the studio wanted ZS because of the time constraints according to the trades.

I'm glad Darren wasn't pulled into "The Wolverine."

It's really funny to think about this. I the last Batman reboot is any indication, some of the names that will be thrown about, especially by tr studio, will be hilarious. I bet there will be a push for Robert Pattinson, with some people trying to justify it by saying that he has already played a "bat man."

I have to say, Harrison Ford as Mr. Freeze is one of the most brilliant ideas I've heard in a while.

It's totally out of left field yet his gruff maturity and gate would be perfect to express Freeze's depression and loneliness.

I've gone through a lot of different actors in my head on who should play Batman and I keep coming back to Timothy Olyphant. I like that he's a little older than most people would think to go. He's in good shape and could probably get into better shape. He plays a great *****e bag (public Bruce) and a great pensive law-enforcer (Batman). And he can do a gravelly voice Clint style effectively deepening his voice without sounding too cartooning (not that I over-criticize Bale's Bat-voice, I actually get it).

I'll throw out another name for Batman... Liam Mcintyre
