The Batman Reboot Casting Thread

No. No no no no no no. Jude Law as Mr F. . . . wtf? If Jude Law were to be anybody in The Batman mythos it would be Harvey Dent. Maybe even Riddler. For Mr Freeze? I'd say Ben Kingsly or Patrick Stewart. Maybe even the bald guy from Syfy's Sanctuary. For a live action Mr Freeze I'd do him being his own "Frankenstein's Monster" with a sort of Darth Vader twist. You would never see him move his lips to speak. The only hints of him being alive would be his voice and the movement of the suit.

Check him out in the poster for Contagion on Yahoo movies. (the exclusive poster) add some goggles and pale skin and the dude looks exactly like Mr Freeze.

Guys, please give me your opinion my fan cast! Watch the video to see a comparison of the actors to the characters. But anyway, here is my cast...

I'm with you there. Dick Grayson's story done right could make an excellent movie. But I hope to first see a loner Batman film that separates itself from the Nolanverse.
I think the male Robins have a great arc(minus Damian, still undecided on him), and while I wouldn't have them be the main forefront of the movie, they'd get ample screentime.

If you wanted a Robin based on Arkham City, Thomas Turgoose is the guy :oldrazz:

Not gonna lie, I hate that Robin design. And that kid is horrible looking, so double no.

My only problem with expanding the Batfamily is that none of my favorite Robins/Robin arcs came first. If we were to get Robin, I'd really want to see Tim Drake. I'd love to see Jason Todd's arc played out over a trilogy, but that's not gonna happen either. Dick Grayson's alright, I suppose, but if we got him, I'd just be wishing they'd fast-forward through his years so we could see someone else, lol.

Posted before, my Batman TV show cast (because I think a TV series would make more sense and get more done than another film trilogy):

BATMAN/BRUCE WAYNE: Jared Padalecki or Philip Winchester
ALFRED: Anthony Daniels
JIM GORDON: Bruce Boxleitner (yes, we all love Cranston, but Boxleitner would be awesome too)
ROBIN/DICK GRAYSON: Callan McAuliffe
CATWOMAN/SELINA KYLE: Lauren Cohan
BATGIRL/BARBARA GORDON: Molly C. Quinn
CARMINE FALCONE: David Morse
LUCIUS FOX: Clarke Peters
JOKER: Aaron Paul
HARVEY DENT/TWO-FACE: Nathan Fillion
PENGUIN: Willie Garson
RIDDLER: James Callis
POISON IVY: Evan Rachel Wood
SCARECROW: Mark Pellegrino
MR. FREEZE: Tobin Bell
KILLER CROC: Kevin Durand
HUGO STRANGE: Jared Harris
RA'S AL GHUL: Sean Bean
TALIA: Dichen Lachman

Just to present a different choice than Walter White, slap a mustache on Bruce Greenwood and you've got yourself a pretty good Gordon.

I like Robin's costume design in Young Justice. I'd go that route. With the character as well, where he's a premo hacker.

Fassbender is a good shout. Richard Armitage could do the role justice. Any other future Bond contenders? Sam Worthington could do a pretty good job as Batman.

I would rather be hit by a truck (and live, mind you) than see Worthington as Batman.

Through James Caan I dig the cast...

Semi agreed. (I don't wanna get hit by a truck :csad:)

However, I would rather be hit by a truck than see a live action Batman show instead of a live action movie.

Frankly, I think Batman works better as a show. I think his character comes out in his little day to day detective stuff and business dealings, rather than in these huge movie-style plots. I don't find him necessarily cinematic, in fact I think a lot of Bruce Wayne/Batman is rather boring when you think about it on film.

Anything with him live action under cinematic is below him.

How is a television series, which would give us 10+ hours worth of story/character development, "beneath him?"

A live-action one would be.

Look at how WB handles their live-action superhero shows.

Depends on whether or not WB pulled its head out of its ass and really went balls-out with it.

I simply do not believe that an HBO/Showtime series with directing/writing/acting integrity on par with the likes of Mad Men, Dexter, and Breaking Bad would be "beneath" Batman.

Quite the contrary. If handled correctly, and with the best talent behind it, a live-action Batman series would be the greatest thing ever conceived.

But that's the thing, WB doesn't make deals with those channels when they have their own channel(s?) they want ratings with.

All I'm saying is that, in an ideal world, under ideal circumstances, a live-action series would be fantastic. But I fully recognize the fact that it is a pipedream. So I apologize for not making that clear earlier.

That would be more for the dream Bat movie/tv show thread then, this one is for the reboot that will happen.
