The Batman Reboot Casting Thread

I just had a thought. You guys know Garrett Hedlund who played Sam Flynn in the new TRON: Legacy? He's got a noticeably deep voice, acts well, has worn a tight suit before, and has the stunt experience to pull off both The Caped Crusader and a handsome young Bruce Wayne. Wouldn't you agree?

not a bad choice

but i prefer someone in their 30s, a more experienced Bats. someone like Jon Hamm or David Boreanaz would be cool to have as Batman/Bruce

David Boreanaz as Batman would be my worst nightmare.

He had the voice for Batman in "Speed Racer" although hopefully no-one flames me for mentioning the movie.

I think Matthew Fox can be a great Batman - Bruce Wayne. :yay:

Don't know about him as Bats, perfect for an older, Reeve-style Superman(though I doubt they'll go back to that after SR) or Robocop in a Robocop reboot.

I want Jon Hamm as ALL the superheroes in a Justice League movie. Even Wonder Woman.
Seriously, guys, what's the deal with Hamm? He's only perfect for Detective John Jones(the Martian Manhunter's alter ego)Marvel's Beast or an older Batman.

Bear in mind that the next Batman film (after TDKR) is at least six years away. By that point, Hamm will be in his mid-forties.

Armie Hammer, however, will be entering his thirties .

I prefer not to have a Batman taller than Superman.

When I first heard his Racer X voice, I thought, "Dude could totally play Batman."

I still like the idea of Hammer as Batman. He almost sounds like Conroy to me.

Plausible, but then again Nolan has much better writers than us fanboys who merely speculate on the internet. No-one "guessed" what TDK's plot would be. We guessed a couple of plot details, but with Nolan it's never been a matter of "these characters are in the movie, so this is what will happen." We don't even know if Levitt is playing Dr. Strange. That would be a bit too reminiscent of Dr. Crane, and personally I think he's a more likely shoe-in for Alberto Falcone.

Most people(not including myself) enjoyed Christian Bale's Batman and want him for the Justice League movie(s). The truth is, Bale, unlike Ryan Reynolds and Brandon Routh, who are real comic book fans, only wants to make money and won't be in any movie where he is not one of the two main characters. Imagine what he would do if there were at least seven others! After Batman 3, Bale is out. He'll be away from Batman forever(not the Joel Schumacher movie, but the character). Now post your ideas on who should play Batman in a Justice League movie and/or reboot. My pick is Henry Cavill for a Nolan-ized Justice League/future sequels and Sam Witwer for a reboot.
Sorry, but Cavill is already a Nolan-ized Superman. Witwer would be awesome, though.

If anyon sounds like COnroy, It's Sam Witwer(watch The Clone Wars if you don't believe me). He can do a "Conroy" for Batman anduse his normal voice for Bruce.

I know, I poste that a while go, when started this thread. Thanks about Witwer.

i stopped reading at "will it be as boring as inception"... clearly this writer knows jack squat about entertainment.
I didn't read that, but after finding out that the writer doesn't like Inception, I don't want to. It was a great movie, a bit confusing at times, but still awesome.

This might be a bit of a left field pick, but what about Brant Daugherty. He's 25, 6"1, and by the time we get a new batman film he could be somewhere around 28-29.

He reminds me alot of

And..

I dont know what he's been in, and i think he's a relative unknown. Depending on what the next batman film series is about, he could really be a great candidate to look at in the future.

Nevermind i just saw an interview of his, he has a very soft voice. And doesnt have a strong presence, the look is good, but voice is off and presence is off.

What do you guys think they'll look for in the film series following Nolans. Will they do another origins film? Or a batman film where he is already become batman for a few years? I would think they'd want a young-ish Batman, especially since there will be an eventual Justice League movie hopefully with Reynolds, Cavill on board.

Clive Owen....If he looks the same whenever they decide to do the JLA film.

I'm falling in love with the idea of Mackenzie Crook as The Joker. Granted, he has a prominent British accent, but I always thought Hamill's Joker had a bit of a British twang in his voice. All he has he to is bring his voice up to a higher pitch, and I think it's work.

But tell me this doesn't scream "Joker."

Cavizell (sp?) would be great, but i have no doubt our next Batman will be around 28, it seems the current trend.

All unknowns for the Batman TV show when Batman is rebooted.

Batman on TV won't happen. TV is for unprofitable WB/DC heroes they can't make movies for.

Batman is a billion dollar film franchaise.

The fact that they're already planning Batman IV and have Nolan/Thomas signed as producers says it all.
