has anyone mentioned, Benjamin Walker...?
(tho, still maybe kinda young, right now, but, who knows how long it will be till a reboot happens)

Interesting. I'm still not confident in any of my Batman actors so far. I'd take Bale back for sure, while not my favorite he's grown on me quite a bit.

Paul Rudd - Batman

BJ Novak - Robin

I've never wanted to shoot myself so badly in my entire life.

Thank you for that.

I could probably get on board with that.

I considered him, but he looks and sounds nothing like Bruce/Batman:...
to be fair, you can say that about pretty much any of the actors whose played him

I only mention him as a potential, up and comer, who might be more popular when/or if a reboot happens

if Bale and the rest of the cast don't come back, i would love to see Jon Hamm as Bruce/Batman

the guy is perfect. who cares if he's already pushing 40? have the next series of films take place some years after Nolan's trilogy

I hope they avoid the sore throat voice for Batman

Have you seen him in anything? He just seems too theatrical and flamboyant.

I'm not doubting his acting ability, he just seems like a huge miscast for this role.

That would pretty much ruin any chances of a team-up with Cavill's much younger Superman.

Bale plays an early 30s Batman, I'd rather they keep that consistent.

Hamm will be in his mid 40s by the earliest time this reboot could launch.

This is definitely not a ~real~ suggestion, but has anyone seen Ian Harding in anything? He's in an ABC Family show that I refuse to watch, which would normally not be a good sign, except that he's only 23 so his career may be just getting started. The reason I ask is because I've only seen an interview with him, but I couldn't help but notice he had a great face and voice for Bruce Wayne (or Clark Kent, for that matter):

His voice really reminds me of Tim Daly's, so maybe he's more a Clark Kent type. He seemed pretty charismatic in the interview I saw, but there's always the possibility that he can't act - until he's in something that I'm willing to watch, I'll probably never know, lol.

I think Jeffrey Donovan would make a great Batman. He's second on my list after Stephen Moyer.

Jeffery Donovan would be very good I think. I'd like to see him get bigger for a role of Batman, but I'm very confident he could handle that. I think he works well for too reasons. I think I can see him very well in a Justice League setting AND I could see him working well in a Gotham-centered storyline as well. He also has a ageless quality too him which to me means he could play a Batman with all his wards and Bat-family members, or a younger Batman just a few years in.

Earliest the reboot will launch is 2015, he'll be 47.

Personally I don't see the appeal or logic of going with an older Batman close to 50 for a new trilogy.

They tend to cast young up and comers in Hollywood for these roles.

IMO an actor closer to Cavill's age range opens more doors for DC teamups too, I hope.

Hamm would be a good choice if they wanted an older actor, but even Hamm himself laughed off the possibility of playing a character like Superman... saying he was too old. Batman is an equally physically demanding role.

Who says it's gonna be a new trilogy? Who says it's gonna be a trilogy. For all we know the castings will be like the James Bond ones for the reboot.

I think Armie Hammer would make a great batman, he's got the voice, and the chin lol. plus he's tall, he has a commanding presence, something lacking in Bale.

I would love that, but ideally I'd like to see the actor remain in the role for multiple movies.

The Bond comparison is definitely a relavant one though. If TDKR is a success, I could see Warners sticking with the Nolan approach and style for Batman IV.

Commanding presense? Bale would make Hammer crap himself.

that's your opinion, and you're entitled to it, now here's mine, i've never been a fan of bale, or at least his portrayal of batman. it wasn't bad, certainly not the worst that there's been, but i was never impressed with what he brought to the character. plus, his batman voice is beyond grating at times, I think Armie Hammer has the perfect timbre to his voice to evoke what kevin conroy, who i feel had the perfect batman voice, which, for a character in a mask, is a substantially important factor.

Haha. IMO Hammer is one of the furthest things removed from Conroy's Batman. He's right for a soft-looking boyscout character or *****ebag, but Bruce Wayne/Batman?

As far as the voice goes, it is a factor for casting Batman but not the deciding and most important factor. Keaton had one of the best Batman voices in live action and he didn't need to go overboard with a lower range.

He was threatening, and didn't need to sound like Conroy either.

But yeah.... Hammer.....Batman :/ Bale has been universally accepted as incredible. Hammer seems like such a huge step down from that. It's almost jarring.

The public reaction said it all when they announced him for JL:Mortal, along with the rest of that fail cast.

I don't want some young generic pretty boy to play Batman.

Get Scott Adkins. He's a solid actor and he's cut from granite.

Scott Adkins is awesome and all, and while I would take him over Hammer any day, he's not right for the role.
