The Batpod (Verdict after the trailer)

Discussion in 'The Dark Knight' started by TheBat812, Dec 15, 2007.

?

Do you like the Batpod (after the new trailer footage)?

  1. Hell yes, it's badass.

  2. It's alright, but nothing special.

  3. I can deal with it, but it still sucks.

  4. Nolan? wtf were you thinking?

Nothing concrete but I've read that

the Tumbler is damaged and the Batpod emerges out of it. Batman drives it away while the Tumbler self-destructs to prevent anyone from checking it out.
But as I said, it isn't concrete and I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't 100% accurate.

Ahh. So it's a little bit of both. I could have sworn I heard that it DIDN'T shoot out of the tumbler.

Yes, it's confirmed it does. Theres even a toy of the Batmobile in stores right now that launches the Batpod out of the center of it.

Damn guys, I thought it was obvious what the Batpod was since it has the same tires as the Tumbler. And it's name implies an escape "Pod". Which is what it does.

I like it as a prototype of a Batcycle, yeah it sounds nice, but the looks leave alot to be desired if it gonna be considered a "finished" product. Its very practical in that it allows Batman to manuever around Gotham in tighter areas, probably faster although I loved the rampless jump of the tumbler, but from seeing how it lowered itself in one of the vids, it might have that rampless jumping capability as well, if so its stock will skyrocket in my book.

I believe it's strafing, it allows the vehicle to move laterally.

Unless they took it down, just let it load and do other stuff in another window, it will usually come up.

The "alley" shot does confuss me. The front end barrells circle around in an unorthadox way. I've been wondering how that is possible.

  22. Not to be outdone, there were several shots of Wayne and Batman. A number of quick bursts showed Wayne testing out new gear and working on equipment. A full shot of Batman running in his new suit was shown, as was a snippet of the Tumbler in action (no noticeable changes to the souped-up Batmobile were evident) and Batman riding the Batpod — a high-tech motorcycle that is said to launch out of the Tumbler.

Does anyone know if the batpod can really spin its front wheel like that? Or is it cgi or something, to me that just seems like a crazy thing to actually add to the batpod and safely do the stunt.

    Its badass either way
