bat suit is perfect.... bike protectors

....any other wouldnt be such credible, as if it would be leather rubber or something else...all you could change is the look wich is probably fun...else would only be possible if you could make it credible that the suit is made out of bulletproof clothing (wich exists)

The picture above. Dan's not wearing the mask. So you can't really comment on the mobility of the suit there, considering the mask and neck have no effect on his movement if they're not worn.

Oh. I didn't read the whole post containing the picture. I was just stating that I would like the cowl to be able to hang behind his head like is the case in the photo above.

I just wanna see Bruce in full costume without the cowl. I was sure we were going to see that in TDK because of the redesign, but we still didn't get it. :cmad:

Agreed. Sans eye make up I assume. I like seeing Bruce in the panels with either no cowl or it hanging behind. We saw it in Returns, but it was marred by that cut w/out the make up.

We werent talking about the mobility, but the fact that he took it off and it hangs behind him. So iconic for batman.

And yes his cowl has mobility because its made of a thin material which creases (somewhat like batman's armpits in begins) unlike the cowl in Begins which was made of thick rubber. We'll just have to wait and see it in action though. Its too early to judge.

While he's wearing it, Nite-Owl's cowl is pretty obviously made of solid rubber. That photo is a modified version of the suit made for that scene.

Good for them. To be honest, Nolan's bat-cowls look to solid to be bent like that. It would look unnatural The burton and schumacher ones could supposedly do that with movie magic. But the least Nolan could do is to show us bruce in suit without the cowl doing detective work or whatever in the cave.

I know you just mistyped, but that reads really funny on its own. Bruce without in suit the cowl.

You weren't referencing mobility here?

Seems to me that the Watchmen team have worked around many of the rubber suits' problems. I mean, they didnt split the suits into pads and it seems that they have achieved enough mobility. NiteOwl can move his neck (probably because its not rubber but some sort of leather?) and he can even do this! I want to finally see batman do take of his cowl like this (and not like a biker helmet)!

Has this been confirmed? That's actually a pretty smart thing to do. Similar to how they had different sized capes depending on the scene being shot.

Yeah, i mixed two separate things up. Mobility and the fact that he can take it off like a hoodie.

Also, hehe, i edited my post Sheldon

To get a more 'comic book look' without lenses, they could easily just use white contacts. I'm still surprised they didn't make it part of his base costume in Batman Begins.

White lenses will never happen b/c every director puts an over-exaggerated value on the actors eyes underneath the mask.

I would think that eye emotions in the Bruce Wayne scenes would be enough.

That Nolan even did them in DK was a nod to fans and most-likely a one-off.

I completely disagree.

Honestly, Batman without lenses doesn't destroy the Batman image, and Batman with lenses in live-action never looks good enough to be an improvement over no lenses, so I don't really care.

I'm more focused on getting him away from Rubber.

Just when i am whining about the TDK suit, these pics get posted and they redeem it somewhat. These shots are very complimentary to the suit.
For me, while sometimes it looked too robotic and clunky (especially the neck pads), when he was in the dark or fighting, the pads morphed into a
single agile silhouette and it all worked out very well.

My main problem w/ it was the spiraly neck design. They really could have had the cape wrap around that area to conceal it. Overall, it was improvement from BB.

MR. EARLE-

Btw, what were you disagreeing with on my previous post.

It's known that lenes were avodied in all previous films b/c the directors wanted the actors eyes to remain visible while wearing the mask. The directors of the films put importance on the emotions of the actor's eyes' comming through, hence no lenses.

It is unlikely (other than than the few minutes in DK) that lenses will be permanently incorporated.

Me, i'm a fan of the white lenses, and would like to see their incorporation in film.
I just dont think it'll likely happen.

As for the costume, i really do hope that at some point they ditch the rubber motif, and go with something far less bulky.

Black and gray color scheme is my preference.

That being said, The Dark Knight suit was pretty impressive.

If you watch the rooftop rescue clip on the front page you can see niteowl with his owl on turning his neck quite easily. Also, in the clip that I am Batman linked his suit looks very well designed yet its very thin. He has lots of mobility and you can even see the suit stretch as it reacts to his breathing. Seems Synder's design team has done what no bat suit designer has been able to do... create a one piece cowl that allows the wearer to turn his head easily and create a very batman like costume that affords mobility without needing to utilize plating.

the suits for watchmen were done the same way that the batsuits were done..

it's the same technique that costume designer Bob Ringwood started in '89.. the technique was refined in the shuemaker films.. but i do believe that the suits in the '90's concentrated on a smooth surface that wouldn't buckle... so the foam was usually too firm... way too firm... and ended up restricting movement...

for the watchmen suits.. the technicians wanted to show that the old technique could be re-fined even further... and be successful... the last two batsuits ( begins and knight ) were done with primarily english technicians... while watchmen was done in the usa... and some of the same technicians that worked on Kilmers and Clooneys suits worked on the watchmen suits.... there have been advancements in the foam itself... and the technicians had ideas that they have been sitting on for some years... they got the opportunity to show their stuff...

let's just say i know some of the guys... and would they LOVE to have a crack at a batsuit again... trust me... they are very proud of their work.. and hope all like it as well...

and how cool would it be to just see... just once.. batman getting back to the cave and throwing that cowl back off of his face... so what if the eyes have the panda black eyes... it would be badass in my book...

and for the record... yes the cowl that lays back on the "owl" is a different kind of material. specific to those shots in the film...

sure we did. the scene on the ledge in Hong Kong.

I God I hope they get the cape and cowl to do this in the next movie: http://movies.sky.com/new-watchmen-clip
I couldnt see how the shoulder moved, whether it creased, etc, but i could examine the elbow. The black part of the suit, at his elbow, allows for articulation without creasing. Its an Ironman type solution, but it works. Hopefully his suit isnt too robotic. But the shoulder is the most difficult part to pull off so we will have to wait and see.

PS: THAT VIDEO WAS SOOOOO COOL!!!!
