I might need to stop thinking about the box office result for this movie.

As a fan who has been longing for a BP movie since 2010 (Yes 8 years), I have lost my appetite, can't really concentrate well enough to do my assignment as BP fans will be the laughing stock of the internet if the film fails and people will further perpetuate the fact that films with black leads don't do well overseas and may not see a sequel in the future.

Am I overreacting?

I just want the best for BP as the character means a lot to me.

As of right now, sources tell us that the Ryan Coogler-directed movie about Marvel’s Black superhero T’Challa is on a course to make $22M-$24M tonight. This would rank as the third best Thursday preview night for a Marvel title after Avengers: Age of Ultron ($27.6M) and Captain America: Civil War ($25M). On the high-end it’s nearly double the $12.7M what Deadpool posted prior to its record February four-day weekend of $152.1M.
