Interesting.

I do think this is a stone Marvel has left unturned. There have been emotional moments of course, but no character stays dead and the tone reverts to a crackling banter soon enough.

If Snyder can deliver big emotional punches - and ones with consequences - then the DC universe can climb up
Wait until AOU, Civil War and the Infinity War Parts 1 & 2 come out. I think Marvel is definitely going to go there.

So how would you guys feel if Batman is on the wrong side of the conflict but beats up Superman in the final fight

Yes fair point. And I suppose AGE OF ULTRON is primed to change the game for the next phase.

Sub-optimal for me to say the least. Not sure how you build off to a League film with that, not sure it's what would be best for the Cav-El Supes going forward into a DCCU, and not sure how that could play into audience expectations that the heroes are going to patch things up and go after the "villains". Granted we don't know a lot, so who knows, but for myself... No, I wouldn't be down with that.

I don't see it coming to that. Snyder has already said the conflict between the two won't be the focus of the movie, so there won't be a "final fight" per se, there will be fight in the first part of the movie (which will likely come to a draw) where they will discover they are not enemies, and will come together to fight the real villain for the rest of the movie.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: having an engaging conflict while still making both characters look good is one of the biggest obstacles this movie has to overcome. For my money, Supes will come out on top, but Bats will give him a Hell of a fight, utilizing various tactics/distractions and exploiting his weaknesses (Kryptonite, innocents in "danger", etc.).

Well Bats would realise his mistake shortly afterand teamup with Cavel.

Snyder never said that the Conflict between the 2 wouldnt be the focus of the movie.

He said the movie isnt 100% a versus movie.
How much of a versus movie is up to debate.
But considering how they are marketing this thing Id say a Lot Like 70%.With the big teamup capped up at the end.

So why not have Superman batter Batman? :oldrazz:

I... FA... Really? I know it's close to quitting time in Jolly ole England, but it seems you've started hitting the sauce early. Puns are an under reported side effect of alcohol.

Good point old man but you know had to get them in. :woot:

Because Batman is more popular.:o

So you basically want Superman to be made out to be a chump. :whatever:
#preptime #batgod.

Because Batman is the underdog. It wouldn't be very interesting to watch Superman beat down a human, not to mention totally out of character. Superman would avoid hurting any human, which I'm sure Bats will use to his advantage.

I agree with you but then some people would love it if a HUMAN yes Batman is a human folks beat the crap out of Superman.

Of course not.I was being sarcastic as to the reason for Bats beating up Supes

This is wny its very Likely Batman wins the fight

Beat the crap out of? No way. Hold his own through clever tactics and intelligence? Sure, why not?

Personally speaking, of course.

If either one dominates it'll be a monumentally asstastic creative decision.

Batman cannot beat the crap out of Superman. And while Superman can beat the crap out of Batman, he won't.

WRONG! Batman can beat the crap out of the sun with enough prep-time.

I think Batman will have to push himself to his absolute limits and exhaust his resources just to keep up with a weakened Superman. They could go the route of Superman: Red Son and have Bats dominate a de-powered Supes, but I don't see them going with that. Even if they did, I don't think it would be the final confrontation between the two. I could see it working if they did something like this:

1st confrontation - Not even a fight. Superman shrugs off Batman's usual tricks (batarangs, smoke pellets, etc.). Bats is gauging his opponent.

2nd confrontation - Bats lures Supes into a trap ala Red Son, completely de-powering him.

3rd confrontation - Supes now knows exactly what he's dealing with. Bats has to pull out all the stops using Kryptonite, super sonics, explosives, distractions, etc. Bats is formidable, but Supes ultimately is the victor.

I am not for Bats stomping a mud hole into Supes but... He has to be given his due. He has to have intricate plans and a back up if that fails and a back up for that one.... And he should NEED those back ups. Supes should walk through the first obstacle/trap/scenario and get more flustered by each succeeding one he comes across. The kicker should be he can't catch this mere mortal and be awed and impressed by it, that this guy in costume keeps coming at him and he can't catch him. When Batman makes good on his escape somehow he's got to get this message to Superman: "Round One."

I think we're on the same page. Snyder and co. know that both characters have to come out looking like absolute badasses. If either is watered down or made to look like a chump, they will have failed in my eyes.

I love Supes, but even I don't have a problem with Batman "beating" him per se. My problem has always really been with the actual mechanics in story, neutering Superman's intelligence, or just plain doing ridiculous stuff like Batman Judo flipping him or the like. Direct confrontation, even under the best circumstances is not how I think a master tactician and strategist like Batman would approach a fight like that. Even the most famous fight they ever had falls apart when you think about it. I've always liked Byrne's MAN OF STEEL mini series confrontation. That sort of planning is more in line with how I see Batman trying to stop Superman if he felt he had to.
