Captain Marvel The Captain Marvel box office prediction thread

After their failure to tank CM's box office, Geeks and Gamers is now onto bashing Toy Story 4 and SW. Bunch of losers can't admit they failed.

Man that is really sad, but seeing some of the other videos on that dude's channel I'm not surprised. The guy seems to be spitting nothing, but hate on everything that either has LGBT characters in it or has forced diversity which I didn't even know was a thing, but these losers seem to come up with almost anything to get mad at.

Perlmutter should form a dream team with Kevin Tsujihara, Amy Pascal, Tom Rothman, Avi Arad, Scott Buck and Brett Ratner.

How could you possibly leave Simon Kinberg off this "Dream Team"? Talk about a snub.

He didn’t make the first team. He’s on the bench in case any of the big guns fail to “perform”!

He's a shoe in for the 6th man award. That's a lot of hack firepower coming off the bench.

Have to admit, i am quite impress with the legs this movie is showing domestically and OS (Excluding china). For me, while, this movie is good (when judged on its own)...... when compared to the rest of the MCU, it ranks only average for me. So these numbers are impressive.

btw.....so we are looking at a billion by the 1st week of april at the very latest ?

This isn’t like the other box offce threads, I don’t think posters here have to cross off every DCEU movie, Captain Marvel passes. LOL.

That wasn't the point I was making nor my intention, but good to know, thanks.

Chance to cross 900 million by the end of the weekend?

Black Panther: $1.3B
Wonder Woman: $820M
Captain Marvel: $820M

:applaud

I wonder what the racist and misogynist Ike Perlmutter is thinking right now.

Us will easily take over this week, but I think CM (and Us) might do better than expected next week, as I'm not yet convinced Dumbo will be a winner.
Right there with you. Dumbo was barely an hour originally...now they are adding human characters to it to make it "deeper"...no thanks. No disrespect, but I find Tim Burton is very hit or miss with me. If he's doing stop-motion, he's a dynamo! When he's running with any IP other than Batman...no thanks.

2 beautiful benchmarks! And then onto over $400m and $1B. :cwink:

Know why? Because MCU gave it an half ass effort otherwise it would have already made 1b domestic.... totally ruined...totally

I don't see it missing 400M domestic, tbh. Not considering what the weekdays have been doing.

It will be significantly ahead of the Hunger Games after the 3rd weekend.

Not an absolute lock, maybe. But pretty close.

Eh, I think Deadline is lowballing it a bit. If Friday is indeed $9M (as early numbers from BOT seem to indicate), then I'm expecting $34M-$35M WE. Also, less schools are on a break this Friday so maybe, the internal multiplier will be better. OTOH, it looks like Us will open bigger than initialy expected ($65M+ OW), and could potentially affect CM more. We'll see...

As for the $400M mark, I believe CM will surpass it. I'm anticipating good legs throughout April, especially as Endgame draws closer (a spot or two featuring Carol would surely help at that). Mainly, if we have a similar situation as with BP and IW, we can expect pretty good drops the WE before and the WE Endgame premiers (-14.6% and - 4.0% respectively for BP)

Yeah, Endgame being on the horizon will certainly help. It's going to at 315M+ after this weekend already.
