Captain Marvel The Captain Marvel box office prediction thread

Man you got to love that Marvel synergy. The same thing happened last year with BP just before IW was coming out. This is going to easily coast past $400M now, and I'm hoping it tops Catching Fire's gross.
Every film boosts the others, and even more so when they overlap like this in release date and content. Once those mini-series start too they will also contribute to feeding back into this crazy system.

Feels good to be right. I predicted these Box office numbers after opening weekend. Congrats to Feige and co when CM hits 400 mil. Endgame should give it a boost as well. The ceiling for CM is looking more like 415-425 domestic right now worldwide - see my original prediction

CM WILL SURPASS Raimi’s Spider- Man, Iron Man 3, Civil War and yes...I’m gonna say it... WONDER WOMAN to become the 25th highest grossing movie of all time domestically!

*Googles “pipped”* Yeah!
It looks like that slow, agonizing crawl turned into a peppy, little trot this week (higher, further, faster :cwink:). That last Friday number was just crazy. That's well over a 40% increase from the Friday before. I can't really remember the last time that happened. BP dropped very little the week before IW opened and had a slight uptick the Friday of the IW opening, but it was nothing like this jump. I'm going to go out on another limb and say the Endgame bump isn't imaginary.

I said last week that I could see CM going from 6th last week to 4th this week; even with the new releases. Lo and behold, that's exactly what happened. It not only leapfrogged Dumbo, Pet Sematary, and Hellboy; it also jumped Little. Hellboy fell to where I thought it would; to about the center of the earth. I feel so smart and, well, almost Reeklike. However, I'm sure it will wear off soon.

to those who know more about Int'l BO than I do....Is there another 10+M out there?

I know it's Easter weekend/weekend before Endgame's release, but a 5.6% bump from the previous WE is simply phenomenal. I expected CM to reach $400M at some point during the next week at the earliest but it shattered my expectations. It's theatrical run has been nothing short of spectacular (and there is still gas left in the tank to go as high as $420M-$430M) :wowe:

$400M!!!

Great weekend bump for CM. This just goes to show that people are truly ready for Endgame and are trying to catch up as soon as possible. The hype is that huge.

Yeah....Endgame is going to be soooooo big that only Donald Trump will be able to adequately articulate it.

"It'll be the hugest, strongest, giantest movie ever and I want help from Russia"

I wonder how many of the people who said 1B would have said 1.1B if they had been given the option.

I know....all of you....LOL.

We really whiffed on the BO #s for CM.

Wow, it didn't drop any and gained more this weekend.

I was gonna vote for the 1.1 billion plus but there was no option.

400m domestic, possibly 700m international. :wow: That's exactly what I hoped for :chd::woo:. Even with endgame approaching, this is a great drop. Yea, Wonder woman is definitely going down. No one predicted that even with the higher opening. I can't wait to see how much it drops next weekend. Higher, further, faster baby.
