I don’t think Emilia Clarke a bad choice for Selina tbh, she has a fun/playful vibe about her that could work well for the character.
Emilia Clarke is a very bad actress. Pass.
Emilia Clarke as Catwoman > Vanessa Kirby as Catwoman.
I'm with Dobson on this. Clarke is not great.
Clarke's acting was one of the hardest things to watch in GoT. Give it to Kirby or someone who won't get completely outmatched by Pattinson.
I like Clarke but she's not great at playing dark and edgy. She was laughable as Sarah Connor and "evil" Dany. She's much better as bubbly, quirky characters. So a hard pass on her as Selina.
I will say that she was good in Solo and her character was a badass, but it wasn't particularly a "dark" character (though she would have probably gone that way if a sequel had happened).
Not my first, second, or third choice for sure, just saying I wouldn't be outraged if she was cast.
I like Clarke but I can’t quite take her seriously in certain roles. In GoT she was good in bursts throughout, but the rest of the time I didn’t find her convincing enough.
In that dress.
Gemma Arterton would be great. But I think they will cast a relative unknown actress like they did with the BoP casting.
If I might throw a lesser known name out there...
Jade Tailor (The Magicians) has that Tim Sale Selina look.
Waaaay too old.
Zendaya is no longer in the MCU
Not old enough.
If you've invented time travel... Carrie-Anne Moss circa 1999. Sure. Why not.
My complete unknown would be Caroline Ford.
If we're retro-casting I'd also submit Courteney Cox (circa 1999 as well) or Morena Baccarin (even if just 10 years ago).
Retrocasting I'd submit Sharon Stone from her Casino days
