Oh snap, he's the MCU version of Willie Lumpkin!!!

Guess we can consider it a done deal that Fox is giving The Fantastic Four back to Marvel. :woot:

I'm kidding btw.....

Well.. some think inhumans may be delayed for a reason... could be marvel wants to introduce them in a F4 movie... ya never know

That would be a dream situation. Although i think the spiderman deal and sequel potential and the addition of the ant man sequel is what moved everything back. Especially inhumans.

It's been reported the main reason they pushed it back is Indiana Jones 5.

Not thrilled for indy 5. Would much rather see inhumans.

Their absence isn't really felt by me since they've already hijacked AOS. The only Inhuman I really want to see is Ms. Marvel, tbh.

Not really, but Peter mentions that when he got his powers he basically had sensory overload and needed goggles to focus. Which is the idea behind the closing eyes. I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be maybe like an unrefined spidey sense or something.

i wonder if that's how they'll do it in his movie, when it goes off the eyes widen like the comics

:ilv:

How did team Stark know, that team Cap will come to the airport?

1. Based on the end of the movie, do you think that Black Widow will eventually end up on Team Cap?
2. By the end of the movie, do you think that Stark is Thunderbolt Ross' lap dog?

3. Does Wanda use her telepathy in this movie, or do they play that down?

I honestly wonder, if Marvel's deal with Sony had taken place like an year earlier, would the Russos have made Spider-Man's role in this larger than what it already is/was?

I mean from everything that I heard, it seems like the only things that Tom really shot was his introductory scene with RDJ and MT, followed by a few shots of him with his mask semi-off. I wouldn't be surprised if they went into filming the airport sequence without having selected an actor for the role as of yet and only had Tom like do voice over followed by filming his shots with his mask semi-off in front of a green screen.

I kind of wish that he had a bigger role in this film, enough to warrant his own mini arc. It just seems like he was in this film for pure spectacle and just to show people that the upcoming spider-man solo film is connected to the MCU.

I see what you're saying, but I disagree with Spidey having a larger role.
This was first and foremost a Cap film. The biggest arcs should've just been reserved for Cap, followed by Buck and Tony, since they are at the center of the conflict.
Spidey was a nice treat that served to further expand that there are more "enhanced" out there.
In order for Spidey to have had an expanded role, I feel like that would've involved connecting him more personally to the main conflict.
Panther got that with his father.
I'd have hated to see them shoe horn something like uncle Ben dying in that explosion or during the battle of New York.
For this film, in my personal estimation and to the rest of audience's audible delight, we've got just the right amount of Spidey in there.
Definitely not just a paltry cameo.

Some awesome stuff in that past TV spot. Panther's voice in the suit sounds so cool! And that shot of Vision 'saving' Panther by shoulder-checking the coach. Was the coach thrown by Giant Man?

If this was just a Civil War film rather than also Cap 3 I'd have been a bit upset that Spidey didn't have a larger role but it makes sense this way in what has to primarily remain a Cap film first.

I can definitely understand those points. If anything, the thing that I'm most disappointed in (but not enough to obviously detract my excitement and anticipation for the film itself) is that I had been somewhat hoping that we would get to see a scenario where Peter would have been conflicted about which side to join and how he idolized/respected both Iron Man and Captain America, but decides to ultimately choose his own path after the chaos that comes from the airport sequence.

If anything, I would have been settled if we just got one scene/shot of Peter AFTER the airport sequence to serve as a nice bookend to his introduction in the film.

Plus, I would have loved the idea if Spider-Man would have been used as an example of a new age of heroes coming about from the shadows as a result (direct or not) of Cap's own legacy.

He was basically there for spectacle, imo. The Russos said that the reason Panther has such a big role in CW is because they weren't sure they'd get Spidey, so they beefed up Panther's role. And then when they got the rights to Spidey, they felt BP was too integral to take back out so that's how we ended up with the role Spidey got.

I don't know exactly what role he would have had before BP, but since the Russos repeatedly talked about how they used BP to be the "outsider" who's not really invested in the conflict because they needed someone who was neutral, I don't think they would have written Peter as like this hugely conflicted, involved in the drama character who had to pick sides in the end, or someone who eventually switched sides. But obviously I can't say for sure.

can't believe i haven't asked this yet:

does spider-man ever throw a punch?

Does he web anyone's mouth shut?
