so...Cap just LEAVES his shield??? 0.o
uh...why? why would he do that?
also, where are they headed off to? Wakanda?

Stark says that Steve doesn't deserve it and that it belonged to his father, so Cap leaves it. Probably much due to feeling guilty over all that had taken place.

Edit: Beaten to the punch.

I do hope General Ross gets his comeuppance, it was hypocritical of him to go on about the Avengers being dangerous when he was responsible for the Hulk and Abomination. How he got Secretary of Defence is beyond me.

I wonder if we'll see the fall out of Civil War explored in future films. I doubt Doctor Strange will explore it and neither will Guardians 2 but i could see it in Spider-Man and Black Panther.

Doctor Strange might mention it in passing, but he won't really be dealing with the **** until Thanos. He knows the rest of them exist though.

Stark says the shield belonged to his dad, not Steve, so Steve drops it

Unless they explain how Howard got that Vibranium it might not belong to either one of them.

As for the stuff about Bucky's arm, if T'Challa was to give him another one it wouldn't just be made of Vibranium.

I think some folk still don't get just how T'Challa really is, but I'm sure the Russo's wanted to save a lot of stuff for his solo film. Expect Falcon to get upgraded wings and new quinjets too, those were both things in the comics that Black Panther originally invented/designed.

To be frank the entire thing is beneath him. Strange is responsible for defending the entire universe from mystical threats.

Before he gets the powers though, he like the rest of the city know that the Avengers and what not have been running around.

I really know very little about BP. Not even seen the movie and I am already stoked for his solo. I have loved all the scenes of him in action.

As Cap was walking away, Stark tells him that the shield doesn't belong to him because his father made it, and he no longer deserves it. Cap then reluctantly drops the shield.

I think what Tony said was - "You don't deserve that shield. My father made that for you." -- heartbreaking.

Of course Steve leaves it behind. He feels guilty as hell for hurting Tony physically and emotionally. Howard was also his friend and he like Tony just watched Bucky brutally murder him and Maria.

Before he gets the powers though, he like the rest of the city know that the Avengers and what not have been running around.

It's plausible that Strange was in Tibet during the events of Civil War hence why they could get away with not exploring the fall out.

The way he's portrayed in the comics T'Challa is on par physically with Steve Rogers (which they seem to show in the movie) and as smart as Tony (which will hopefully be explored in his solo film).

That's part of why Marvel has been saying he's such an important figure and game changer for the MCU.

Which is no bid deal because where Cap ended up going, there's no shortage of vibranium.

Smarter and wealthier.

Exactly. That's what came to my mind when I saw the movie.

I know almost nothing about T'Challa, but I read that he is a scientist and Wakanda has the most advanced technology in the world. I'm so excited for his movie.

Its probably why I love the solo movies the most. WE get more details regarding individuals backstories and motivations. I am really excited about Doc Strange too. I am the least familiar with Strange had some prior background of BP with some of my days collecting the Avengers...but not much. Super excited about Boseman, he has gotten such praise that it should be fun to watch no matter what. And I lOVE cumberbatch in anything so thats feeding my desire to see Strange.

Well, I'm sure Wakanda engage in international trade to some degree, so they likely would have sold vibranium (at a premium of course) and then the vibranium somehow ended up with Stark. If the Tesseract can end up on Earth, it's not a stretch to wonder how vibranium ended up with the US military.

When the clip of tony's parents being killed was shown. Tony got really emotional and angry..I totally agree with that.

However I think most of the audience neglect the fact the Howard is also a close friend of Steve!

Seeing the clip is not easy for Steve too..basically steve's best friend killed steve's another best friend

I never got the feeling that Howard and Steve were all the close. I know they worked together and Howard admired Steve, but from what we've seen they weren't all that close.

I have no doubt that Steve was disturbed, but it couldn't even be remotely close to what Tony was feeling at that moment.

I always figured Howard mentioning how rare it is and saying the shield is all that they have of it was an indication that it was probably too expensive to acquire more. Especially if all they can figure out to do with it is make a shield - at least as body armor it has a more direct use, but the army probably didn't know how to use it for that and wouldn't have been able to afford it even if they had.

It will be interesting to see what they do with BP going forward because technically he really can take Tony's place at least when it comes to supplying and housing them. It just depends on if the Russos want to have Steve and co in Wakanda doing Avengers-like things or not. There's so many possibilities.

I don't think they'll make him smarter than Stark, they'll probably stay at the same level of intelligence. He's DEFINITELY wealthier though. T'Challa's Black Panther suit probably exceeds Stark's total worth.

The third act was incredibly emotional. I just wanted to give all the characters (even Zemo) hugs.

Although I knew it was coming I absolutely loved that the other winter soldiers were just red herrings. It would have been so easy for the directors to simply have had the third act be Stark, Cap and Bucky vs the winter soldiers released by Zemo.

Have we figured out what is the 2nd extra scene is about?

Keep in mind that Ryan Coogler is the Black Panther director. The Russo's really wanted to make it a point to leave T'Challa and Wakanda as much of a Blank slate as possible. Coogler even consulted on how they used Black Panther in Civil War.

I know some people are expect The Avengers to be all up in Black Panther's film but I don't think (and hope) that doesn't happen. Having the Avengers play a role in that film really undercuts T'Challa imo.

It's been discussed many times in this thread a few pages back, as well as the "TAGGED" spoiler thread and the speculation thread.
