I never got the feeling that Howard and Steve were all the close. I know they worked together and Howard admired Steve, but from what we've seen they weren't all that close.

I have no doubt that Steve was disturbed, but it couldn't even be remotely close to what Tony was feeling at that moment.

It's not close but Steve was more than disturbed, he was horrified.

They were friends and comrades who worked together for a couple of years during WWII. When Steve went missing Howard looked for him and ran an expedition until he died and even after which is how I think SHIELD found him.

In Avengers Howard's file is one of the ones Steve looks though in the deleted scene along with Peggy and the Howling Commandos and Tony.

In Agent Carter we see that Howard loved Steve and Peggy knows it.

It's really sad that Howard recognised Bucky before he was murdered. :csad:

Keep in mind that Ryan Coogler is the Black Panther director. The Russo's really wanted to make it a point to leave T'Challa and Wakanda as much of a Blank slate as possible. Coogler even consulted on how they used Black Panther in Civil War.

I know some people are expect The Avengers to be all up in Black Panther's film but I don't think (and hope) that doesn't happen. Having the Avengers play a role in that film really undercuts T'Challa imo.

I think at most there will be a Steve cameo, to establish what he's been doing since CW as we head to IW, but that's it. I meant more that putting Steve there at the end of CW lets the Russos just drop a line or two in the IW movies talking about what the Avengers have been doing, or might even have them start the IW1 movie in Wakanda since that's where they might have been.

I do agree that having the Avengers there as a whole will take away from something but T'Challa's movie. But between Hulk being in Thor 3, Iron Man being in Spidey and them leaving the last CW scene being Steve in Wakanda, I feel like we're going to see a trend of the "original" Avengers showing up in small roles in other movies like Falcon did in Ant-Man and it wouldn't surprise me if it happens with Black Panther, too. But I agree that if it does it needs to be a small role, since they have to fully establish both Wakanda (a country unlike any we've seen so far) and BP himself.

Yeah I think that would be a nice emotional moment on screen between them. Could you see the shield in the final scene with Tony anywhere at his residence?

Also wonder if Bucky ever gets outs of cryo if Tony will make him a new and much cooler arm?
It's curious because the post-credit scene was actually originally gonna be Bucky getting a new arm courtesy of T'Challa (I am 100% certain of this, it's not just a vague rumor I heard lol), but they re-shot the scene in the January re-shoots to what it is now. Idk if that means they changed their minds about how (or from who) Bucky will get a new arm, or if they decided to just put that scene in a different film.

I saw this on midnight opening here in the UK. The place was packed!

I'm curious. How useful and strong is Giant-Man? I've been reading it's more of a gimmick and distraction? Or is he legit? Like, would he have been helpful in the Battle of NY, or final Ultron battle?

He's really strong.. but slow

I think an opportunity was missed by not having Hank Pym at Peggy's funeral.

The CG deaging of RDJ was impressive, it was really good in Ant-Man but it looked like RDJ in his prime. The technology has come a long way since Tron

So, we now know Howard improved on the super soldier serum. Tony has perfected mechanical and missile based weaponry. Also cracked extremis. Gotta think that Lang's capture caused Ross/Tony to have access to Pym Particles, which Tony could probably effortlessly reverse engineer. Hmm...wonder if future movies will explore the possibilities now at Tony's fingertips.

I really want to know what happened to Howard's formula, as in like...who has it now. This other Winter Soldier storyline seems like it has the potential to be huge, if they ever pick it back up again. If someone else had access to that formula, they could churn out supersoldiers that are almost as strong as Steve, and nobody would see it coming because nobody knew it was even possible. But Extremis had huge potential too but we haven't heard about it since IM3, so this might be another thing that turns out to be put on the shelf bc they have other stories to tell.

if u talking about stronger and more powerful than steve, those howard stark invented formula WS are already much stronger than Steve from what I've seen.

The critical thing though is that they are unstable mentally.

given Pym's nature, he most likely watched it via ant surveillance. they could still have him reference the death in Ant-Man & the Wasp.

I know there was one end credit scene where panther and cap freeze bucky back up. Was there anymore after that?

Tony too. She was a friend of Howard, worked with him for years, It was odd not to see him there.

Don't think it was so odd. Don't think he'd just show up just because she worked with his dad for many years. We never get much on whether he ever had any relationship with Peggy. Would be like saying it's weird Hope wasn't there because Peggy worked with her dad for many years.

I really need to see this movie again.

A 30 foot tall man with the power to control ants and shrink/grow objects would've been very useful. He could've shrunk Ultron himself and made him easier to defeat. Or in the Battle of NY, he could've shrunk the Leviathans. Grown to Giant Man and dragged them down, stepped on Loki. It would've been ****ing awesome.

Wish Ant Man was in the MCU earlier.

Can someone answer me a question:

When Cap, Bucky and IM went into the chamber in Siberia, did Zemo let the Winter Soldier who was prominent in Buckys flashback free whilst killing the other 4? There was definitely one seat that was opened.

All the movie shows are bullet holes in the heads of the other soldiers. They were bait and Zemo had no other use for them.

Right??? Huge possibilities. And it sounds like Howard's formula was stronger than Bucky- so at least on par with Cap (I'd guess?)- but unstable. But still, I'm sure Tony could figure that out. And extremis. And hopefully Scott broke his tubing before capture, otherwise they have Pym particles too. Imagine the possibilities. A Yellow Jacket style suit, worn by a super soldier, with extremis healing and heating, that can also grow. Woowee. I doubt MCU amalgamates that way, but Tony has all the ingredients for a a seriously overpowered warrior.

Great film!

My main quibble is what Vision was doing during the airport battle. Vision's abilities are far and above pretty much every other Avenger with the possible exception of Scarlet Witch. But, although we saw Scarlet Witch battling others, we didn't see much of Vision. Was he holding back because he felt conflicted about being involved? Or did I somehow just miss most of what he was doing despite his colourful costume? Other than phasing through Giant Man, I don't recall Vision having any major moments in the airport battle.

Otherwise, it all worked pretty well for me. The kiss between Steve and Sharon seemed a little out of place. It was almost like Steve only became interested once he knew that she was related to Peggy, which is a little ... disturbing. If the movie earned a kiss, it should have been between Steve and Bucky before Bucky went back to sleep. Or maybe Steve will awaken Bucky with a kiss like in Sleeping Beauty in a future film.

They also seemed to be pretty hard on Scarlet Witch. At no point do I recall Wanda even mentioning the fact that her brother died and her entire city destroyed in the battle of Sokovia. Not to mentioned her imprisonment at the hands of Baron Strucker. Sure, 11 people died thanks to Crossbones, but she saved hundreds in the marketplace. Not to mention the fact that the Avengers also stopped Crossbones from taking and releasing the biological weapon. I guess they needed to wear Wanda down emotionally to explain her unwillingness to unleash the full extent of her powers when in battle. Otherwise, she'd be a one woman army, even with her limited abilities in the MCU.
