The Clinton Thread II

Very good. This is definitely the angle to go for.

Hillary is right but I don't think she should be giving history lessons to her opponents to try and win votes. 20 years ago she was against gay marriage and gays in the military so I don't think she'll be serving any humble history lessons. She is right but she's not doing this to be supportive. She is only saying this to defeat Trump so her sincerity is lost.

I am curious why people are not allowed to change their mind of the years. People who bring out those kinds of points seem to refuse just how fast attitudes have changed in the past 20, hell even 10, years. And I suspect that she will own up to that.

Because nobody's views or opinions change over a span of twenty years.

People's views can change but she's at the back of the line as far as critiquing others on their history...given her own.

Oh, because she's a Clinton, and by GOP standards automatically untrustworthy and corrupt.

Gotcha.

And she like many decent people have changed their views and become more tolerant. Whereas Trump has remained a racist intolerant gasbag. So she is right to call him out on that.

And every politician wants to defeat their opponent and will use things to defeat their opponent. Doesnt mean they arent sincere.

Show me her thoughtful retrospective on her erroneous stances 20 years ago. She made a half assed apology a year or two ago by saying DOMA was the better option. She can't responsibility for her actions...time and time again. See lengthy list of scandals. While honest, genuine politicians are rare, that's no excuse. I personally think she's a horrible person. That's just my opinion.

I'm not talking about Trump. We all agree he's a dog turd.

I'll take corrupt and untrustworthy over Donald Trump. Honestly, there isn't much I wouldn't take over Donald Trump.

Yeah, no matter what Hillary is still better than Trump in every way.

The speech was also clever in that it separated Trump and the Alt-Right from normal mainstream Republicans, instead the Alt-Right were an outside group that was trying to take over. She complimented people like Ryan for calling out racism. And by saying that Trump and cronies are not true Republicans but invaders she also was saying that it was ok to not vote for him, that people didn't need to vote for him out of partisanship.

It's been over 260 days without Clinton having a press conference. Her media statements are really short, too. And in her recent one, she dodged questions and instead offered the reporters chocolates. And they just go along with that? I mean....really?

If they give non-scripted questions she may have another one of those 'short circuits'.

The FBI has also admitted Clinton used software designed to prevent recovery and hide traces of deleted emails. But we're meant to believe she only deleted innocuous messages. Right.

In the age of social media, what's really the point of any candidate holding a press conference? Press conferences tend to be more about the media getting a reaction out of the candidate than getting any kind of useful info out of them. Look at Trump's. He either winds up putting his foot in his mouth or yelling at media members. Also he was asked a question about frigging Harambe.

Although Hillary had one as recently as August 5th

Yeah wasnt it Dr. Drew who also said Clinton was late to a primary debate stage due to "brain damage," and it turned out she was just using the bathroom?

Yes, that's all I was saying. I'm not really expecting a huge amount of sincerity from top politicians (otherwise they probably wouldn't be there). This seems to be an effective political strategy for attacking Trump.

Clinton said she was going to make Russia build a firewall to prevent hacking and Russia was gonna pay for it. It's bold stance on her part but one I can respect. :o

Didn't even know what alt-right was until Hillary brought it up.
The alt-right has been said to be a largely online movement with Internet memes widely used to advance or express its beliefs, often on websites such as 4chan
:lmao:

Ditto. Attacking your feared opponent with a past that they have clearly abandoned strikes me as an avoidance of the present issues, or an inability to defeat those issues headon.

Having seen her speech, I'm glad she finally got out there after two-hundred however many days to speak. It reminded a bit of Romney's 47% speech, but otherwise was fine, I think. The hacker known as four chan strikes again.

She was talking about the group in the Republican party that's hijacked it. The extreme far right hyper evangelical and racist republicans.

Not 4Chan trolls.

I'd at least respect her attempt to get a "meme" going for the queen she is :o

Wikipedia can barely define this "alt-right" group whilst stringing together all the same ol' bad -isms thrown out by "various sources".
The other definition is a blog.

She's talking about the vague conservative boogeymen and continuing the tried and tested rhetoric. Only this time, they have a name! and she's outright pandering to the "good" Republicans. Did she somehow realize Trump's pandering to blacks was problematic for her chances?
