Create a Hero RPG SEASON II Application

Character you have created: Sirce (pronounced Ser-see)
Alias: Gwen Mayer

Speech Color (Actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not): Blue, Bold

Character Alignment: Hero

Identity: Known

Character Personality (Give information on how your character acts, what he/she believes in, how they handle situations): Gwen Mayer often none as a 'clutz' to her family, she often gets things wrong and misunderstands people. Gwen's always happy and cheerful to see someone who does good for the world, but hates it when someone toys with her and does bad to the world. Gwen loves to make a show and be joyed when she is fighting crime, she never uses her powers for personal gain, claiming it's against 'the rules of a superhero'.

Origin Info/Details: Gwen Mayer comes from a rich background (as well as being an only child), growing up in the Beverly Hills, she's always lived in Glamour and style. But that changed when both her parents died in a car bomb set up by someone who wanted revenge on her father. Gwen was forced to move into with her uncle and auntie, she instantly made friends with her cousin, Tom Mayer. Gwen went through teenage-hood in self-blame for her parent's death, when she convinced the two to drive the car to pick her up from school. Tom helped Gwen through her sad times and the two grow closer. One evening, her Uncle and Auntie had been arguing for several hours, they had locked the doors, Tom was out, so Gwen was trapped alone. The next thing Gwen knew was her auntie (who is only related to her by marrying her Uncle) came running down the stairs, sobbing. Her auntie clutched Gwen and looked deeply into her eyes, the next thing she knew, a blast of green spirits hit Gwen and formed inside her body. Her auntie had smashed the lock and ran away, never to be seen again.

Gwen soon discovered her powers and used them for personal gain at first. She was now old enough to buy back her parent's old mansion, so she did. She shared her secret with Tom, Tom told her not to use it for personal gain. Gwen soon landed a role as an actress, now 22, she was known worldwide through out the world. One day Tom was kidnapped by a crazed fan of her, the crazed fan held Tom hostage, thousands of people watched. Gwen was forced to use her powers under her new identity--
"Avion" the world watched in amazement.

Fearing for Tom's life, Gwen's uncle told Tom and Gwen he use to work for a movie set where he would make the fake robots, he then made a special suit for Tom, Tom gaining the identity Bionic. Gwen fights alone but has the occasional help from her brother Tom. Gwen has also never found proper love and continues to put love aside for now. Gwen is still on a journey of finding her auntie so she can explain the burst of powers.

Energy (What kind of energy? Ex. Electricity, Fire)
Energy constructs

Power Level (Select one below):
Cosmic (Ex. Silver Surfer, Green Lantern)

NOTE: Having only one or two powers does not automatically make a character a level 2. The levels reflect how powerful the powers themselves are, not only the variety. A level 3 may be more powerful then a level 4. These levels serve to show where your powerful hero operates, as heroes this powerful may be cosmic wonderers or Earth-bound. Also, Game Masters will be wary of approving level 3 or 4 characters. An extremely well-thought out and great sample post will be needed to be approved for a high level character. Your post should be as powerful as your character.

Powers (Be Specific): Ability to create complex shapes (such as giant boxing gloves or cages) or even functional machinery (such as fire extinguishers or laser rifles) out of solid energy. Considering two spirits transferred into her, she also gains the ability to transform into substance touched.

Attributes (Select one at each category):

Strength Level: 30
when normal but when touched, Concrete, Mercury, so on, her strength level is 70.

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 20

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort:Normal Human but when in strong form, it's 3

Agility: 5X

Intelligence: Average

Fighting Skill: Untrained

Resources: Large (Considering she can generate solid weapons)

NOTE: Even if all attributes chosen are Normal human when Super-Genius, Mastered, and Extreme are chosen for the final three attributes, this player is a level 3 or 4 character, such as Batman.

Weaknesses (If your stats chosen are deemed powerful enough by a Game Master with no weakness, the character will fall under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters. Even with a weakness, a Game Master may rule it as a Level 3 or 4 character): Average blue crystals, weaken the spirits.

Supporting Characters (Does your character have a significant other? A mother? Friend? Who are they, what do they have to do with your character?):
Tom Mayer - Bionic, Powers: Suit gives him ability to have super leaps, x-ray vision, speed and agility.
Den Mayer - her Uncle who made Tom's suit
Lara Curran (ex-Mayer) - Gave Gwen her abilities through special spirits, ran away from Den after fight, Gwen's searching for her, use to have Gwen's powers and gave them up.
Helena Rise - Gwen's P.A, sorts out Paparazzi and news.

List a few reasons why you've created that character:
I want to make a happy hero
I want to play someone who relates to me (aside the parents thing)
I like to play females, considering there is not enough in this RPG
I enjoy this RPG too much, so I created a second character.

What can you bring to the RPG?:
A bimbo, what more do you want?

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?:

(You can use that for the roster)

Sample Post (Minimum Four paragraphs containing dialogue):

Gwendolyn Mayer stood silently, she breathed slowly as she looked at the grand doors of her mansion. Helena Rise ran up to her, clutching a clipboard. Gwen nodded, she smiled at Helena. Two bodyguards ran to the grand doors and slowly opened them. Flashes of camera's popped in the faces of Gwen and Helena, people's voices drowned out their thoughts. Gwen had managed to slip on some sunglasses.

"No comment" Gwen stated as she ran towards her limo. A slender, tall man jumped in front of Gwen.
"What does it feel like to be an honored hero?"
"I'm not a hero, i'm an actress, leave me alone" Gwen jumped into her limo, Helena following.

Helena breathed slowly, she turned to Gwen and smiled.
Gwen smiled back and looked forward at the seat in front of her. The engine of the limo roared. The limo slowly reversed a drove off. Gwen looked out of the window to see the sun gleaming down on the roads. Helena was writing on the clipboard. Gwen slowly took off her sunglasses and dusted her gown. She was on her way to the airport, she hoped no one would bring up the fact she was Sirce.

It had been an hour now, Gwen still waited as the car continuously drove on. Gwen was going to be at the BAFTA's in two days and needed to fly to England. The car sped round a tight corner, Gwen and Helena shifted in their seats.

Without warning, the car spun in a circle. The tires screeched and cars driving past stopped. The limo had spun out of control. The limo spun out of the highway and into a forest which was next to the highway. The limo's tires burst, but the limo carried on. The limo slammed into a hard tree, Gwen jolted forward and so did Helena.
"Do what you have to do" Helena muttered.
"SPIRITS OF SIRCE!" Gwen chanted, spirits wrapped around her, they soon faded to reveal, Sirce.
"Hold on" Sirce smiled.

That's the concept, at least. Feel free to play around with it if you like.

Okay. Now, do you mind if I put him in tights? Only saying because unless the character is like someone packing heat and firepower normally I do tights. I could keep the same look, but in tights-format if that makes sense if you are worried about him wearing tights.

Also, after reading the application for him, is there anything ESSENTIAL to keep aside from the belt?

Im at a lost for words that is awsome. I even let one tear fall from my eye. It was a man tear.

You're welcome. It's funny because I was like "there's no way I'm going to get close to this" and it took me like the least amount of time of all the MicroHeroes I've worked on recently. :clown:

OK, so it seems everything isn't going to be as bad as I had thought. Instead of a 12-14 hour day today, I only had a 9 hour day, and tomorrow shouldn't be quite as bad, I'm just looking at about 12 hours. So once I finish work tomorrow, I should be golden.

Here's The Gladiator:

gladiatorredeisgn1.png

Made a few minor changes, because there was such detail in some parts of the armor that I couldn't capture at such a small scale.

everyone's been doing a great job, glad to see this game back on track.

Also, I'll have a new Icon post up soon, I just need a question answered and I'll get to posting, sometime after work tomorrow most likely

I've decided I'm going through with my idea for my second character:

Application soon to follow...

I still stand by my original belief that this RPG needs a patriotic hero, thus:

Create a Hero RPG SEASON II Application

Character you have created: The Citizen
Alias: David McDonald

Speech Color: Red Trebuchet MS for David/Bold Navy Trebuchet for The Citizen

Character Alignment: Hero

Identity:Secret

Character Personality: David McDonald is a real man's man - the All-American guy that every dude wants to hang out with. In college, he was a loyal wingman - when he wasn't taking charge, that is. David grew up in a modest background, and he remains humble to this day. He has a strong Christian belief system, but he's very open-minded and progressive. As a former football captain, David knows how to inspire and lead people. As a former soldier, David knows how to take orders and work in a team. As a politician, he knows how to be diplomatic and fair to all sides of an argument. He's Lost Haven's poster boy, and the general public generally loves him.

Origin Info/Details: One night, at a Lost Haven museum, there was a break-in. David McDonald and his wife, Katherine, were in the museum at the time. Acting completely on instinct, David tackled the robber and wrestled away the stolen goods. The robber escaped into the night, but David had saved the artifacts. One of these artifacts was a mystical amulet that dated back to the Jamestown colony. The museum curator explained that the amulet was said to give magical powers to its wearer. David wasn't one for superstition, so he ignored the story. The next morning, David realized that he had accidentally put the amulet in his jacket pocket. The museum wasn't open yet in the morning, so David had to wait to return it. In the meantime, he decided to test out the myth. Needless to say, he was caught quite off-guard by the results.

Hero Type:Brick/Muscle

Power Level:3. World Level

Powers: Superstrength; Flight; Enhanced Healing; Mystical Aura - Light Manipulation, Empathy, Precognition.

Attributes Strength Level:70 tons.

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 40 MPH.

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 4 hours.

Agility: 10X Human level.

Intelligence: Average.

Fighting Skill: Trained.

Resources: Large.

Weaknesses: David is constantly in the public eye as a result of his profession, so it is very hard to lead a double life. His loyalty to the innocent can easily be manipulated against him, as he will not settle for unnecessary collateral damage. If, by some chance, he is separated from the amulet, he loses his powers.

Supporting Characters: David married his high school sweetheart, Katherine, and the two have been happily married for some years. David keeps in close contact with his family - especially his young brother, Alan, and his even younger sister, Hailey. David has a very personable secretary named Martha, and a constantly nervous PR consultant named Tom.

List a few reasons why you've created that character: With ElectoFlare gone, Spirit of America goes with him. As such, this RPG needs a patriotic hero - someone to represent the good, the bad, and the ugly about this nation, for better or worse. Furthermore, I wanted to create a character that's much more in the public eye and much better equipped (physically, mentally, and emotionally) than Mantis.

What can you bring to the RPG?: Fresh ideas and the commitment to follow through with them. I will try to bring the same writing quality to The Citizen that I brought to Mantis throughout last Season.

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?:

Sample Post:

I decide to swing by the museum again the next day. For the life of me, I still can't figure out why it was closed. I tell myself that it might have just been for renovation or something, but I know that there would have been a sign or something if that was the case. Even more puzzling, the building was empty. Even if they were doing renovations, I doubt they would have moved all of that stuff - especially not overnight. All that said, I allow my suspicion take a backseat to hopefulness as I approach the museum doors again.

This time, the doors are open. But the place is still empty. Possibly overstepping my boundaries a bit, I enter the museum. Against my better judgment, I continue to venture deeper - my footsteps echoing off the walls. As I reach the center of the first room, I notice a man standing a short distance away. It isn't the curator.

harold-perrineau.jpg

"We're closed," he announces somewhat irritably. I suspect he isn't too happy that I more-or-less trespassed.

"I'm sorry. The doors were open, so I just..." I trail off. Taking another breath, I ask, "I was hoping to speak to the museum's curator." I gently feel the Amulet around my neck. I've started wearing it as a force of habit, I guess. It reminds me that I still need to return it.

"He's gone," the man explains simply.

"Gone?" I repeat as if the word were foreign to me. How can he be gone? He made no indication the other night that he would be leaving. Did the scare make him decide to call it quits? If so, how was I ever going to get this Amulet back to him?

The man nods. "Yes, he left rather abruptly," he replies. "Said something about his work here being done." After a pause, he states, "I'm Carl. I rented out this space to Mr. Roosevelt." Mr. Roosevelt? Must be the curator. "Any chance I can help you?"

I bite my tongue for a moment. Should I tell him about the Amulet? Will he be upset if I do? I don't know how much Carl knows about the museum or its artifacts, and I don't know if he could help me even if I told him. So I decide to keep my lips sealed in that respect. "Not really, I'm afraid," I respond apologetically. "Do you know any way I can get in touch with Mr. Roosevelt?"

Carl shakes his head. "No such luck, my friend," he sighs. "He barely gave me any warning before heading out. Didn't tell me where he was going - or how to contact him. He just left his rent for the remainder of the year...and he was gone."

Well, that certainly throws a mighty hitch in my plan. Maybe I should tell Carl about the Amulet. He could do something...right?

"Not even sure how he moved all this stuff so fast," Carl continues - more to himself than me by this point. He puts his hands in his pockets and looks up at the vaulted ceiling. "He always was a little mysterious. But he was a nice man - real history buff."

I nod arbitrarily. I'm sure Carl wouldn't have even noticed if I had walked away. But I'm still torn about this Amulet situation. What am I going to do with this thing now? Maybe I could give it to another museum. I don't know. "Well, thanks for your help, anyway," I announce. I take one last look at the empty room and turn to walk away.

"Wait!"

I stop and look back at Carl.

"You're that guy who's running for Governor!" Carl announces excitedly as he recognizes who I am.

"That's right," I answer with a smile. "I trust I have your vote?"

"Nah, man, I don't vote," he replies bluntly. "But good luck, anyway!"

I smile vacantly as I leave. He doesn't vote. Of course. That's my luck. It's the same luck that's stuck me with this Amulet. And I still don't know what to do about that.

Just kidding.
Approved.

Here's hoping I can get him at least somewhat established by the time of the invasion.

I'm still mulling over what my second character should be. I got a bunch of ideas but I'm having trouble picking one.

Thanks for making it seem like I didn't post, EBJ! :cmad:

Tights are fine with me. I had the vest open because I wanted to convey the idea that, since he hasn't been in action for a few years, his old costume doesn't quite fit him anymore. If you can get that sort of idea across, that'd be cool.

As for what's essential, only the belt, and a short cape. I like the look of the goggles, but if you think a mask would do as well, then go for it.

Making the suit seem that doesn't fit him is something I'm not sure I can really do. Does only the vest have to not fit him and the cape be short? Is that enough to show his original suit doesn't fit him anymore?

That'd pretty much be it, I think.

On a side note, it's good to see the Citizen come back, EBJ. Glad that some of the stuff from the Silver Age RPG stuck around.

New Electron post up. I designed a new weapon for STRIKE agents that could be used by all divisions, a dart gun that causes severe haemorrhaging and causes comatose state in Metahumans and death in normal humans. Also, is Electron allowed to be taken captive by STRIKE?

Out of curiosity when will the roster be ready?

I still haven't received concept designs for the following:

Psivox
Doktor Zero
Robert Atlum
Zaine Black: The Architect

Until then, I don't want to really make a roster picture that doesn't include them even though the list roster will still be in existence. Depends on the GMs preference if it is cool with them to have a picture roster that is incomplete for the sake of it looking nice for now.
