If it doesn't reach 98% then I'm going have a 24 hour marathon of the new Hellboy film.

It needs 15 more fresh reviews to go back up to 97%.
Yeah we’re almost done and it shouldn’t move outside of that range. With the amount of reviews now this will be at worst a 95 at best a 97 and I think most likely a 96.
The New Yorker “review” is such garbage. The guy clearly doesn’t have an open mind to these types of commercial movies that I don’t know why he even bothered reviewing it.

Yeap. Here’s a taste:
“One must, after all, respect the feelings of the saga’s devotees, who demand nothing from reviewers but sobs of nonspecific adulation. Anything else is treason. (In future years, I suspect, Marvel fandom will be regarded as a very peculiar phenomenon, and I wish that Michael Moore, say, could interrogate the faithful while the flame still burns.)
The one thing you do need to know about “Avengers: Endgame” is that it runs for a little over three hours, and that you can easily duck out during the middle hour, do some shopping, and slip back into your seat for the climax. You won’t have missed a thing”
The guy has a right to dislike it but sounds like he just has a bone to pick with comic book fans in general.

He's right about the fandom though. Stepping outside,. There's a general disregard of any opinion that doesn't butter the MCU. The movies are hits. But are not without fault. Different strokes for different folks. People who dislike these films have opinions JUST as valid as those who love them. His annoyance is around the fact that die hard MCU fans can't seem to accept that.
I was one of those fans for a long time..
It doesn't and why I avoid certain critics who have done it in past reviews. It's so condescending, smug, and elitist to look down on people for liking a particular genre/style of film. How does disparaging fans of the genre have any place in a review of a movie?
