The CW's Nikita

This episode was AMAZE-BALLS. Did not expect that ending with Michael. The brief Nikita vs. Anne fight was good which was no surprise.

Glad to see they
rescued Sonya from her killchip, but what's with Michael becoming Kickpuncher next week? I know there's some wild tech on this show, but a robo-hand?
Seriously?

Great episode this week! I love what happened to Michael because the character's become a bit stagnant for me, and this gives him some new issues to deal with (even if next week's promo looks cheesy), and possibly a new direction as well.

This week was a great example of why I enjoy this show so much - the writers' particular talent for subverting expectations of what most shows would do with these plot-lines. Everyone finds out Sonya's been the mole and Birkhoff's been keeping it a secret, yet everybody gets it and nobody beats them up about it. Alex's addiction comes out and she gets confronted simply with support and understanding. Michael and Alex have to play up a relationship for a mission, and there's no jealousy or confused feelings involved. Any other show would have exploited any one of those developments for maximum drama, but Nikita has always treated its characters like the mature, professional adults they are (except Alex), and that's something I've always found refreshing about it.

What happened to Michael at the end of Intersection will be a turning point in his relationship with Nikita for the next several episodes. I think it symbolizes that love is losing its grip.

100% agreed, I was shocked at the ending, it's a bold move that not many shows would make. I thought the way they cross cut between Mike and Nikki's drama and Birkhoff trying to neutralize Sonya's chip was really effective in building to the big moment, I'm sure most of us thought Sonya was more likely to bite the dust than what happened, it was funny as I watched I kept expecting Michael to suddenly get his hand free then it sort of dawned on me in slow motion what was going to happen.

On a side note I liked The Watchman character, I thought he was a neat little addition and it was a shame he got taken out so quickly. It was also good to see the team outwit Amanda, I was worried they'd make her practically omnipotent like they did with Percy at one point.

I'll keep the momentum going...excellent episode!

Obviously the seeds of a possible Michael and Alex affair have been planted...and with Mike losing his hand, I have a feeling Alex is going to be his shoulder...which could open the door to a Nikita and Owen affair...I'm open to all of it.

So glad Niki put Anne out of her misery...I knew she was going eventually...she was too impulsive and ready to prove she was better than Nikita...I thought Amanda was going to kill her for a moment...

If they keep up this pace and keep throwing in twist and turns...I'll be very happy. I still think Nikita needs her "Anna Espinosa"...maybe they could cast the OG Nikita as a new rival for Nikita?

Considering that I consider Sean to be useless a possible michael and Alex affair wouldn't bother me.Back In season 1 before he found out Alex was mole I could have seen them
sleeping together.Back In Season 1 Nikita kissed Ryan so eather he or Owen could be someone Nikita turns to.

A big Question Is what do they do with Amanda when she resurfaces. Her henchwoman has been killed and her moles all gone.

Certainly a major turning point for Michael, and the show in general.
On the one hand (heh heh!!!), it is rare that we see a main character on an action series so gravely wounded. And I definitely do applaud the writers for making such a bold decision. I feel bad for West though! I'm sure he read the last page of the script for that episode and was like, "AGAIN?!?! I went through this bulls**t on ER!!!!"

As to the robotic prostetic, I don't think it's THAT far-fatched. At least it looks like something that could practically exist, and obviously, it's gonna take A LOT of getting used to. And it's certainly gonna cause friction between him and Nikita.

a one-woman show always makes for a total badass...which Amanda is but I doubt she's out of man power. I like Amanda because she's not completely cold-blooded like Percy, she does have a degree of compassion but she lusts for power, which makes her do evil things. Perfect gray character and that's how they should keep her. I hope they'll dig more into her past...

I would also like them to give her a mission statement... does she want division back? I mean what does she want? Power? World domination? What? Besides wanting her surrogate daughter back, which is how she views Nikita in a twisted way...what does Amanda want

They need to shift away from Amanda for awhile though and focus on that group Percy was trying to join, "The Club." We should be learning more about them.

I agree. Amanda's been dealt a major blow with her leverage over Sonja gone, her REAL mole dead, as well as her henchwoman, Anna. It would be good for the show to refocus on a new, more dangerous antagonist.

Yeah, I'm not yet convinced they won't take the Percy-esque omnipotent route with Amanda eventually, but it was nice to see her dealt a serious blow this early in the season. Makes me even more nervous about what they have planned for the big threat toward the end of the season, because at this point in any season of Nikita, they're just warming up. I have a feeling Amanda's gonna disappear for a while after this. Only to return at the worst possible moment.

Re: Michael/Alex - that would be just plain wrong to me, as I pretty much see Nikita and Michael as Alex's spy parents, lol.

Melinda Clarke Is only suspose to be In 11 episodes this season.

I don't see Nikita and Michael as her spy parents. That's because I see too much chemicstry between Nikita and Alex.Alex has absoletly no chemicstry with any of her so called love Intrests on show.Alex and Michael work better on screen than any of the real love Intrests they have had for Alex.

I think Obsidian could be right and the group Percy was trying to get in with last season will be the big bad revealed in the second half of the season, they could be Amanda's way back into the story as well as she is going to need fresh back up and new resources.

Haha! I agree, it would be an awkward pairing, not to mention the fact it's a bit soapy for this show, I mean they avoided the cliche of Nikita being all insecure about Michael kissing Alex.

Not a big fan of this weeks episode, I thought the story was dull and it made the team look amateurish. I did enjoy the friction between Nikita/Michael and Owen though.

Not sure what to make of Birkhoff discovering some way to retcon Michael's hand loss.

This week's episode was about relationship problems and they have emphasized this to the max with Nikita/ Michael/ Owen and Alex/ Sean. Nikita and Michael have a certain way of doing things in the field, but with Owen it's a different adjustment since he's basically a loose cannon. Nice to see Alex and Sean reconciling. They're going to need all the help they can get when dealing with Amanda.

The beginning of this season bored me. I almost dropped the show from my regular viewing. I'm glad it is finally picking up in these last few episodes. Hopefully they give Ryan some meaty stories soon.

I knew there'd be no happy ending regarding that doctor and Michael's hand, but now he's in a darker place than ever with obsession looming. It's also going to be interesting to see how long it'll take before Nikita and the team end up directly conflicting with the President and his "Jobs".

Next ep looks good.

Ha, I was dreading this episode from the previews because I saw only two possible outcomes: 1.) Michael gets his hand back, and this whole storylines becomes nothing more than a speed bump for the Michael/Nikita relationship. Which was definitely not how I wanted it to go down. Or 2.) It was to be the final nail in the coffin for Michael's hand, to make him truly accept the loss and move on. And that scenario just seemed unnecessary and almost redundant to me, so I thought it would be filler.

I did NOT imagine a 3rd scenario in which it dangles the existence of a real solution out there just enough to plant the seeds for a new obsession for Michael, which no one else on the team is on board with. Bravo, show, you've subverted my expectations yet again.

I love the development of the Government rediscovering their love for Division...much to everyone's dismay, lol. IF this is going in the direction it appears to be at the moment - with "our" Division going rogue from the Government for the "right" reasons this time...I'm gonna have to demand a season 4, even though I've been totally cool with the idea of this being the last season 'til now, haha.

I agree about next episode looking good. I feel like Sean is the character with the most unused potential right now (it's great to have a main good guy who doesn't worship at the altar of Nikita, imo), so it'll be nice to see an episode focused on him. As I recall, the Sean-heavy episodes midway through S2 were the point when I felt that season really kicked into gear.

I think poor Nikita and Alex are never going to be able to wipe their slates clean the way they'd hoped as I think they will end up directly opposite the President, I imagine exposing Division entirely may be the endgame.

That's an interesting point about Sean not being a Nikita follower, there is certainly potential to take that fact and really do some interesting things with it, within the shows core dynamic.

I guess it shouldn't be surprising that the new Division may be heading down the same path as the old Division.

All I wanna know is. . . . WHEN IS PETA WILSON GONNA GUEST STAR?!?!?! :woot:

Yeah, it's been a GREAT season. Solid writing, strong character moments. I love the whole shadow of the old Division sort of looming over them all. You can see how it's almost coming full circle...the way divison started is happening all over again. No matter how good their intentions are...

Yep, I think that's gotta happen at some point.

I think they really missed the boat in not casting her as Alex's mom. I mean, she looks much more like Alex than Nina from 24 does, imo.

Pretty much. Though I doubt Percy's intentions were ever that noble, lol. Carla's sure, but Percy's? Nah.

Anyhoo, here's a pretty epic new promo to tide us over for the brief hiatus:

Yeah, Sean faking his death and (likely) becoming an actual Division agent is a pretty big deal, but not all that surprising since they kinda need an official explanation for keeping him around. But that shot of the bloody hand/engagement ring is what really caught my attention. Looks like Michael and Nikita's troubles are just beginning.

That shot of Nikita and Amanda tied to chairs in the fire and Amanda crying is pretty intriguing to me, too. I wonder if Ari's the one who put them there?

Definitely enjoyed this week's episode. I honestly didn't see the twist [BLACKOUT]with the CIA agent being a Gogol/Amanda mole coming. And the humor during the fight scene with her and Nikita was nice, too! Especially when Nikita finally took her out. . . . then took her shoes!!! LOL!!![/BLACKOUT]
