The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

Be interesting to see how much has been cut from the cinematic release and how long the home release version will be as an 'extended' version.
Why do you think there will be an "extended" version? We got basically a blow-by-blow of the edits in test screening from leakers. It was clearly mostly just about toning down the edgy comedy and trying to make the setting less confusing for non-DC nerds. It's not like they slashed out whole subplots or there was some big messy fight over final cut.

Maybe they could bring back the "episode" bits.

Haven't seen the movie so no opinion on what would work better but it's interesting to me they cut that. I'd have thought that would actually help the flow of an intentionally episodic narrative.

Wb can't continue the awful trend of ___editions. Leave that behind with the DCEU

Absolutely fine with the film the running time it is, I had just heard in some of the reviews released thus far, that 'some' had mentioned that it was 'clear' an extensive edit had happened, meaning some clarity of flow was missing in the structure.

Equally, the news before release was of some minor changes & shaving of scenes.

I don’t think James Gunn has ever done that for any of his films.

All the so called rumors about the movie actually were true. They actually were the funniest moments in the movie. Super sh$$&@t!!!!’ :censor:  :woozy::-) The Lois and Clark interview scene was absolutely iconic. Clark was innocently cocky and Lois put him in his place.

At best there might be a few minutes of filler scenes but all of the major set pieces play out fully without anything left to question. I think what people are thinking is that maybe there is more Daily Planet stuff and the like and honestly I doubt it. Even if they do this is not like BvS where they would add anything of value to the plot...everything you need is on the screen.

Well it looks like the Crazies weren't able to tank the film..;.96% audience score so far with over a 1000 verified ratings. (whatever the heck that means)

The critic score beat even my expectations...I was thinking around 78% was the ceiling. (still could be) If it stays in the 80s that is awesome.

It goes to show that the crazies are a vocal minority online. Now the majority needs to back it up at the box office. It’s sad that we gave that daily beast tool his 24 hours of attention in the spotlight. Some fool actually did a video panicking about the movie on the 4th of July.

It is financially profitable for these guys and girls to put down DC movies. Roca and Grace got over 100,000 views in less then 12 hours because of their negativity towards Gunn and new DCU. Of course both loved the movie. Social media is big business.

"Verified ratings" means that you have proof (via Fandango) that you purchased a ticket and watched the movie. In this case it means 1000+ people who actually watched it gave it a near perfect score.... I've been waiting for YEARS to type that out about a Superman film.🥹

Just saw Jeremy Jahns didn't like it and he's usually easy to please. :(

Also the usual suspects didn't like it like Tyrone, but we all knew that.
One of my go to reviewers despite my issues with him. It's all good since one of my other mainstays, Double Toasted, liked it a lot across the board.

I'm having serious second thoughts on him giving a positive review on that Daily Wire Matt Walsh ragebait documentary.

Yeah I would say at my fandango Prime screening probably 96% out of 100 loved the movie. This probably getting no lower then an A- cinema score.

"Likeable yet limited". :argh:
