The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

I won't lie...I thought so too for a second!

He needed to show the Top Critics number to prove his alternative facts.
No that was about the spoiler in the post before that ;)

The Snydercult dude is living in a fantasy world. Probably spends all day listening to Joe Rogan :o :wow:

They are just outright lying. It hasn't dropped below 82% once from critics or 95% from audiences.
I mean it COULD, but it hasn't yet.

Is it necessary to always bring them back on topic?
I swear I only hear about them through this board... :whoops:

If some are interested, I can teach how to go online without bumping into them.
But I can't do anything against love though... :o

i see once again the snyder cult going for the gold medal in mental gymnastics.

Superman doesn't need to beat MoS at the box office WW. It's no doubt it's going to beat it domestically, but WW, not as likely. But like the only reason it matters is because these people refuse to acknowledge the damage their savior did.

If they going with an older Batman in this universe, I like Karl Urban. Especially with The Boys ending soon. He can easily fit in the Gunn universe.

easily my first choice for an older batman for almost the last 10 years haha.

a great actor.
his turn as judge dredd convinced me he'll make a great older batman.

Yeah, the Snyder fans are playing a game WB/DC isn't. Now, famously WB in these various regimes have been quick to press that panic button, but the truth is DC is where it is now because of BvS. That movie created a state of panic in the DC section they never recovered from, and that's why the DCEU never had direction. I don't think we are playing that game now. At least I hope not. Like, Batman Begins didn't do amazing BO. But people liked it, and the TDK hit a grand slam. That's what you need here. Get Superman on base. Then next time we see a Superman 2, maybe he gets the home run.

@Lily Adler enjoys her safaris!
12 years we had to wait for another Superman film. The rollercoaster alone lets me have this.

That used to be the normal goal. The first one gets people on board and the second one ramps it up to 11. Then the third one disappoints 🤣

Got my tickets for tomorrow. I've been trying to stay away from spoiler reviews. I admit I'm a little nervous due to how all-over-the-place the reviews seem to be. I've also been concerned with how packed the movie is with so many characters or how the tone seems like it could be a little too silly.

But I hope I will be pleasantly surprised come tomorrow.

I just want g********n good Superman film with a hopeful and optimistic Superman. I enjoyed MOS for what it was at the time, but over the last decade my opinion of the Snyderverse movies has soured because the tone was overall too cynical and pessimistic and the character of that Superman never felt right.

Going back even further to SR, that was an utter disappointment of a failure as well.

So for 20 years, I have been denied a cinematic Superman that I can really get behind and love. I want a Superman that embodies who the character is supposed to be. Super strong and all powerful but at the same time kind, hopeful, and optimistic.

Let's see if my wish will finally come true tomorrow.
