The Dark Knight THE DARK KNIGHT crowd reports!

I just went to see TDK at my small theater in my small town...
at 3:45
and They nearly sold out in screen 1(smaller screen) and the 4 o clock showing(at the big screen 12) was pretty much sold out and there was a huge line...and when I left...there was a packed line to see TDK at screen 1...This is crazy...TDK is having a bigger impact than Spidey 3

In NJ, was sold out. The thursday midnight shows were sold out, the line was way bigger than iron man or sex and the city (yes i got dragged to that one).

HAHAHA HOHOHO HEHEHE HAHA HOHE HAHE HOHAHAHE

And I thought my girl was bad.

I, uh, almost clapped when Bruce gave the speech for Dent. I caught myself after one clap, I was so into the movie. Hah.

I've seen it twice....First was on thurs night at the Woodlands AMC....At least 1000 there....But out of all of that there was maybe 10 dressed up....Most of the crowd seems like people that weren't really batman fans but just there cause it was the "Cool" thing to do....We got there at 6pm and ended up second in line which was pretty cool....The best part was me and the guy that was first in line....At one point we were the only ones there and he's wearing a Batman shirt and has Batman tattoos....I have my joker T-shirt and Batman club shirt on and this guy walks up and says "Is this the line for Batman" I replied "I hope not cause i'm here for Mamma Mia".

The second time was at the crappy muvico by my house....Woodlands was sold out for the rest of saturday night so we had no choice....Tickets are like 3 dollars cheaper but the place is a mess....Literaly falling apart around us.

But it got even better....The lights went down and the first trailer they showed was.......2 fast 2 furious.

I've never seen a full theater go WTF all in unison....I mean seriously....A trailer for a horrible film....THAT CAME OUT 2 YEARS BEFORE BATMAN BEGINS!!!!!!!

And on top of that it was a wrecked out trailer on top of it....In fact in all my years of going to the movies I've never seen a piece of film look so badly on screen and basically it fell apart while on screen....It finally snaps and the screen goes black....The lights come on....And then the sound plays backwards....WOW.

After a 5 minute delay they come back on.....Halfway thru the Watchmen trailer....I looked at my girlfriend and said "NEVER AGAIN".

The thing that got the crowd pumped was the one-two punch of the truck flipping over and the batpod flipping off the wall. The reaction was literally *truck flip* "OH!" *batpod flip* "OHHHH!!!!" Great stuff.

^^almost the same here.
but the audience also clapped hard. man, that was a cool moment.

I went to the 3:20 am showing at the Edwards IMAX theatre in Rancho Cuccamonga, CA. I was going to go the showing at six am as well but thankfully my date who was going to meet me there had to work so we had dinner later that night. Anyways, I woke at 12:00 and we (me and my Superman loving brother, my dad said I had to take him or else I couldn't use the car ) left the house by 1:00 am. When we got there, there was a line from the inside of the theatre, with a neat Joker HA HA set up, to the outside. The crowd was mainly what I can describe as fanboys, "emo" people and punk rockers and their girlfriends. Some of the girls were less than thrilled to be there which is crazy but who cares! I only saw two people with Joker faces and like 8 guys with batman capes. Once in a while somebody would say "If you are excited to see The Dark Knight, then make some noise!" Then of course a lot of people would scream. Everybody was holding either an energy drink or some the girls were holding coffees that the theatre sold. I was so upset at where I was at in the line until I saw how the place was set up. I saw that no matter where you sat you had a good view. We sat on the side in the middle. This was a great crowd! NO KIDS YAY! I was thrilled to see no children there! I hate when kids ruin the movies but that is for another thread. We left the theatre at like 6:30 am or so.
:hq:

I went to see the Dark Knight on the day that it opened. I went to the 11:00 pm showing at the Galaxy Odeon theater. The line up outside the theater where the Dark Knight was playing was humongous! I mean i knew that there was going to be a huge line up, but i never thought it would be THAT huge!
One of the people in the line up actually wanted the Joker to win the final battle.

And at the concession stand before i went to actually see TDK, i bought a TDK combo with a TDK popcorn bucket with Batman, the Joker and Harvey Dent's faces on it. And best of all, i have two!

When we got into the room, the whole place was packed. There was not an empty seat in the house.

The only bad thing...twenty minutes of commercials in front of the previews and the actual movie!:cmad:

I've seen it three times now. These were the moments that got a reaction from the audience each time:

- Joker's magic trick with a pencil
- Jokerised dead Batman copycat hitting the Mayor's office window
- Joker's truck flip
- Reveal of Two Face
- Nurse Joker exiting the hospital while it was blowing up

^ yup those are all the scenes that get the most reactions but add in the bat-pod popping out and the wall flip not to mention "then your going to love me" line as well

Went originally to the IMAX at POinte Orlando, FL on midnight first showing.

It was full to the brim and when we arrived there was a large queue for th 3am show already.

The best bit was all the murmuring and then when it started evryone just went COMPLETELY silent. Supoib!

It's been a week and here in Los Angeles theater are still selling out especially in the IMAX. Pretty impressive

I was rushing to see the film at 2.30pm, for some reason I was thinking that the theatre would be packed and all the good seats would have been gone. Suffice to say the walk to the screen was like a ghost town, and when I opened the door and looked up there must have been around 15 people out of a possible 100 or so. The crowd reacted most to the trailers that played before the film, but that was mostly due to the group of young teenage boys behind me who found the commercials of snacks funny. I can't deny it, I snickered a few times at the Wall-E trailer - I must see that film.

As the film started, about a dozen more people came in and the only reaction I heard from them was the Magic Pencil act, however subtle it was.

at the midnight showing there was lots of whoohoo's and yay's! and wheres batman!!! during the credits. Four people dressed like the joker too. it was fun. No one talked during the movie! i was so suprised!! everyone had respect for it which suprised me but i was ssooooooo glad because it angers me when i watch movie and people say stupid ***** that is irrelevant.

I have a quick question. Do IMAX movies play on the large flat screen or on the dome screen?

I want to see this at an IMAX theatre but dome screens give me such a headache.

23 30 showing on Thursday London IMAX was great. Super crowd and the WHOLE theatre clapped like it was the end of the film when batman OWNED joker on the street and the notorious batpod flip.

Sunday matinee IMAX, HUGE line outside the theater for our showing. When we got out, ANOTHER huge line.

I've been away from the internet since Wednesday, and oh my crap I didn't realize how big this still was. :wow:

I have a feeling that the Sunday box office estimates may be low again. Remember last week they were 3 million off. That would be amazing if Sunday did bigger than expected again. :yay:

My screening tonight was about 3/4 full. I was seated next to some people who hadn't seen the movie yet! Their reactions were great! The whole theater still had all the same reactions at the scenes and moments that have been mentioned before.

My huge theatre had 2 sold out showings today and the one I went to tonight, for the third time, was nearly sold out and people had to sit on the front row. It was easily 9/10 full. This is crazy!!! Glad to see this movie doing spectacular. I guess some people hadn't seen it as gasps and screams occurred and a wonderful amount of clapping at the end as well.
