Well... there's no news, sadly. =|

Hopefully we'll get a look at the new batmobile/and or suit at the expo...

Agreed Lando.

And Charlie, read the previous page kkthxbye.

Don't misinterpret my tone for trying to be condescending. That's not my intent.

But seriously though...how many rejuvenating springs? I'd just read the previous page, otherwise I wouldn't have asked.

Cheers.

Is it normal to have just over one year to the films release and have very little pics and/or information?

I wasn't here for BB or TDK so I don't know what to expect.

Actually, yes.

But in the next few months, more and more stuff is going to be released.

You can definitely expect something big at the expo, and Comic Con.

I'd suggest rereading. Not one person said an actual hot spring that resurrects people. But, basically somebody said about how the very nature of the Pit is not realistic, when that is not true and it is actually being pursued in medical sciences today, the thing that causes aging can be reversed and can rejuvenate muscle tissue. However, it would need to be a series of very precisely measured injections, rather than a bathtub filled with green glowing goo.

These cockfights are getting unbearable.

:funny:

My money's on little jerry seinfeld.

Interesting. Still seems like reaching for a film, but cool.

Gosh darnit, I want to come in here and see news, not realism debates :csad:

There's a thread specifically for these debates. And not to be grump, but after so many years of such discussion, I'm more than a little tired of them.

Not only is it frustrating that we don't have any pictures of the actors and actresses on set, but we don't even have pictures or them out and about anywhere!

You think Nolan has told them to lay low?

See, this is what happens when you think a rejuvenation pit is possible—everything old is new again ;)

They're probably working 18 hour days. I'd be too exhausted to go out and about. I'd go back to my trailer and call the wife, the bone a hot extra, and take shirtless pics of myself on my iphone and call it a night.

Sounds good! No wonder we haven't seen pics!

Where did you get that? Everywhere I looked it never revealed what happened to them.
Harvard Study - Telomerase

"The mice in this study lived longer than the untreated mice in the study. However, they did not live longer than normal mice."

The reason: They are not studying normal ageing, but ageing in mice made grossly abnormal.

POSTSCRIPT:

Mice make telomerase throughout their lives, but humans are different. We live a lot longer, so the enzyme is switched off in adult humans. If this did not happen then cells would grow out of control and turn into cancer, so if they start giving you this enzyme, it might indeed help restore a bit of vigor, but your risk of cancer would leap. The key question is what might this mean for human therapies against age-related diseases? While there is some evidence that telomere erosion contributes to age-associated human pathology, it is surely not the only, or even dominant, cause, as it appears to be in mice engineered to lack telomerase. Furthermore, there is the ever-present anxiety that telomerase reactivation is a hallmark of most human cancers.

You guys...for real stop it now please?

The actual workings and failings of these experiments hold no merit to if a movie will use it successfully or not.

Just because it doesn't work in real life doesn't mean that it COULDN'T work in real life, you only need the seed of realism for it to be passable. so these back and forwards are pointless

No kidding, that's why I left the Bat-boards after Batman Begins. :csad: But I guess as long as there are new fans joining the boards, there will always be people who have yet to participate in that debate, so it's no biggie.

It's the circle of life. :awesome:

This is a super-hero-hype forum; nothing said here is really all that important. Everything is old. Everything is tired. Everything is rehashed. Still, it passes the time when there is time to kill. You can watch the train go by or hop on board when the right train comes. The only thing that is truly pointless is screaming at the train from the platform as it goes by.

That song is going to be in my head all day now! :woot:

You make a good point, and we don't want to end up like like a bunch of Howlers: http://www.flamewarriors.com/warriorshtm/howlers.htm

But I do feel like this argument has been flogged to death.

I actually like reading these long ass nerdy debates. Sometimes I'm in them, sometimes I just read them, and sometimes they do get irritating, but overall, I don't see any harm in it.

Nerd on, my friend. Nerd on......

I'm on the other end of that now. I moved from Chicago to near Boston almost 3 years ago (I was an extra in BB & TDK). Pittsburgh is a 10 hour drive and mucho bucks for me to make a trek to now. I have the time and sort of have the cash but it would put a huge dent in my wallet. I'm dying to be in this one and don't know what to do. Decisions, decisions.

You've already been in two, I say dont worry about it. :cwink: :woot:

This movie will be a major boost to the Pittsburgh economy. Congrats, guys.

Indeed. Should be a great month for the city.

But it's not even on the parameters of the films anymore. It's taking out a ruler and measuring whose educational sausage is bigger; which is fine but, at least try to stay in the lines of TDKR and Nolan.

It's rate of success in Real life have nothing to do with the believability factor in the film.
