I'm getting more and more anxious to see if Hugo Strange is in this movie or not. It seems like it's leaning one way or another week by week.

The fact is, I don't think Bane will be the main villain. It seems like too much "responsibility" on that character. He's not exactly the heavy hitter like Joker or Two-Face. I mean, I LOVE Bane, always have, but he's never really been deserving of top villain status. Don't flame me.

And Catwoman, (no offense ladies) can't be the ultimate main villain because she's a love interest to Bruce, and she doesn't have the physical threat to him that Bane has.

So, based on what we know so far, there is no MAIN villain in this movie.

And that makes me stroke my chin at this notion: Nolan is keeping this movie so secretive, that he hasn't even revealed who the main villain is.

Nah, another psycho-analytical shrink-villain would be too...Jonathan Crane. I love Nolan's Scarecrow because of his obsession with his own job-description (to the point of hilarity). And, anyway, Bane is way too interesting a character to be relegated to numero dos at this point. If memory preserves, Bane managed to manipulate Batman's entire rogue's gallery from the get-go, Strange was manipulated by the rogue's gallery (though he does win points for being one of those few who preceded even the Joker).

Anyway.

So, Does anyone else think Daniel Sunjta is playing Crispus Allen?

I don't know about Sunjta (is that even spelled right?) but Crispus Allen has been on my mind ever since they started talking about more cops. He should definitely be in this!

Bane should be the main villain, its that goddamn B&R that put a bad taste in everyones mouth about the character, but he could very well be a main villain and I hope he is.

If Talia's inclusion in this movie is true I have a very strong feeling that Bane is going to be her sidekick.

Not to say that he won't be the calculating guy we all know and love but I think Talia, if she's in this film (hopefully not), will be the main bad guy.

Man thinking about it this film is PACKED. We got Bane, Catwoman, Talia (if reports are true hopefully not again) and JGL's character. And on top of that we've got the police on Batman's tail. Batman's going to have a rough ride come 2012

I actually think he'll be in the movie. We still haven't figured out who the "old villain" is that Oldman was talking about, so I think Strange is the best bet.

Hey gillberg, what do you make of the casting news about Josh Pence as the Young Ra's Al Ghul? Does that mean the synopsis posted by Devin is probably true? Previously you said you'd heard nothing about the league in the film, but just wondering if there was still some light you could shed on that. I'm also curious, would you know if we're getting any backstory on Bane or Catwoman?

Unfortunately, I've got nothing on this one. Nobody's passed anything along re: Ra's/League/etc. I was just as surprised as everyone else.

And yes, you will be getting definitive backstory on both Catwoman and Bane. These characters won't just come out of nowhere; that vibe was sort of reserved for The Joker.
