Anyone else hope that the bane picture is an early version. I like the realism, yet the geek inside was hoping for more.
I'm very happy with what I'm seeing so far, unlike with the first release of the Joker picture, which, thankfully was much more over the top than the actual final product. One of my biggest concerns with Bane was always the luchador look, and this is one situation where comic book accuracy would have actually been a negative, IMO.

So reguarding Bane's mask, it looks like it's almost in line with the early reports that some low-level baddies will have "animal-like masks."

Some guy pointed out the visual contrast of Batman having the lower part of his face exposed while Bane has his upper half exposed.

So I guess we don't have anything new?

Actually the song says:

Mata, Mata, Dispara, Dis dis dispara, Dispara, Dispara, Mata, Mata.

That can be translated from Spanish to English as "Kill, Kill, Shoot, Shoo..., Shoo..., Shoot, Kill, Kill"

It seems like it would be an LOS chant to me

It makes no sense to release the first as a pic that is not a final product.

Please, don't make people jump on the grasping at straws argument. The Joker is not perma-white wearing flesh makeup over his white skin which is under white makeup over the flesh makeup. Not again.

Did you see the first person say it in the Tom Hardy is Bane thread?

If so, yeah it's the same guy.
Yeah. Damn, you'd think after all the years I've lived in Arizona I'd have learned some Spanish. Ah well.

I am pretty curious as to what the chanting will signify.

Bane's theme maybe.
I agree it very well could be that.

At this point I find the hearbeat sound to be the theory feels most right to me. While I don't know much Spanish, I've heard enough to figure that interpretation is as good as some of the English ones. Could easily be wrong, but it doesn't sound like that is what is being said to me.

Regarding the Spanish lyrics, isn't Bane Cuban in the comics? Perhaps a latin or Spanish cult ritual thing honoring his heritage?

Though we don't know if he'll still be Cuban in the movie.

I like this, I figured it was a foreign language right away, and obviously it should be Spanish if he's from the Caribbean area. I also thought they be saying his name like, "Ba-na" maybe like a foreigner may pronounce it, though Spanish would be "Ba-neh." We'll see.

I like Hardy as Bane and his look, I'm betting he'll have his mask at some point. His look was sick in Bronson too, and Nolan surely we'll replicate that character for Hardy in some way.

I still say that the chanting is prisoners cheering on Bane.

So creepy, just a creepy black screen with that chanting. Like Lovecraft or something.

The only thing that should be cuban about Bane are the fatties he puffs in his mouth.

Then he runs for Governor of Gotham.:awesome:
