Did anyone else see the prologue script pages? Where did those come from? Does that mean that someone outside of WB has procured the script??? I would be VERY interested in knowing more...

Not sure on the legitimacy of it, seeing how it was after the prolouge was released it was posted.

True, but it was in proper screenplay format and didn't have the usual trappings of faked scripts... If it is fake, which is, of course, quite possible, the guy at least knows his way around final draft.

I think it was a fake. Fanmade or so.

Why would they block the last part on the last page that takes place after the prologue? Because they don't know it.

Fanmade in my opinion.

Writing something in screenplay format, especially on Final Draft, is incredibly simple....it does 99% of the work for you, that's why we love it.

Plus, as someone who has read the scripts of both The Dark Knight and Inception this is totally not Nolan or Nolan's style of writing. Chris' style of writing is more concise and "Hemingwayish". Very short sentences. Very utilitarian, while still conveying emotion and imagery. He also writes more like a director. A lot of "and we...." and camera directions are used throughout. Jonah is a little more of a "show me" type writer. He's more descriptive, but not in a clunky, juvenile sense like this "script" is. His action is easier to follow, as well. If I hadn't seen the Prologue, this "script's" description of the events would be hardly awe inspiring or even comprehensible as a whole. Go read The Dark Knight, read the action scene with the Batpod....Jonah Nolan can write better than this...

This is a fake....and after rereading it, not a very good one. Plus, it would have to be a PDF of a hardcopy, which this is not... This is just an uploaded FDX file from someone's home computer....

Yeah, it's fake. There is one description that says the CIA agent shoots the mercenary in the head and pushes him out of the plane, which he clearly doesn't do. That whole scene would not work if CIA killed the mercenaries. Bane says "perhaps he's wondering why you would shoot someone before pushing them out of a plane", obviously he knows the CIA is just putting on a show, that's why none of them talk.

Also some of the lines are wrong also.

Ya know, I never thought about trying to figure out which Nolan wrote what...

Final Draft makes the formatting of a screenplay simple...just like Microsoft Word can make formatting prose for a novel simple. The actual good writing and storytelling part...that's a different issue. ;) :D

The screenplay format is incredibly easy to replicate. Hell, there's a program for writing screenplays where it does the formatting for you.

Do not give the writer props. It's as fake as my grandmother's right hip.

nvm, having second thoughts...don't think it'll work...

Having second thoughts. as great as this idea is, legally I don't think setting up a donation will work. Back to normal. My hopes are still with the families of the Aurora tragedy.

Hopefully they release the full script online. The Dark Knight script was officially released online by Warner Bros. in November of 2008.

Really?

From what I remember, someone transcribed the BB script when that came out in paperback form...and then somehow we got an official copy...

After a bit of Googling, turns out JoBlo posted a scan of the entire script first...where was it officially released online?

They released The Dark Knight's script in November 2008 to promote the movie for the Oscars. It was here: http://warnerbros2008.warnerbros.com/assets/images/TheDarkKnight_Script.pdf

but it's no longer available. Here's a download link if you weren't able to grab it back then: http://www.mediafire.com/?9ejbhitbfg8j9tf

Ahh right thanks for clearing that up. I'm guessing that's the proper PDF copy that's pretty much everywhere now...

I'm guessing they will release the TDKR script officially at that time this year. Only thing that doesn't make sense to me yet is the source of the current BB script PDF - as far as I know someone transcribed it much like I'm doing with TDKR from a paperback release (or a scan) - there's a PDF copy floating around marked on the title page as 'transcribed by member of the League of Shadows' and a username... and the other copy is a completely clean (not transcribed?) PDF that everyone's got by now...trying to work out where that came from.

Here's that transcribed BB script I was talking about - thewatsonbrothers.com/files/theroman.pdf

For anyone who wants to give screenwriting a shot, here is Celtx

It's free, much easier to use and better (in my opinion) than Final Draft. They have formats for any kind of story telling method. Signing up is free and they won't spam you. I strongly recommend everyone tries this out.

That's exactly what I'm using to transcribe the TDKR script!

TDKR script - transcription finally done. Doing a full proof-read tomorrow on my flight, any corrections I find will be rectified, and then it will go online…in less than 24 hours from now. ;)

It seems like the platform rising part wasn't in the script. I like how that last shot sounds in the script as it seems like Blake gets swarmed by the bats and they fill up the screen, much like some of the first shot in Begins where the swarm of bats fill the screen and transition into the tracking shot.

Talk about Full Circle.

Looking forward to it. Thanks.

And here we go, full TDKR script download:

165 pages of epic. Done a full proof read and spell check as well, but if there are any mistakes, I apologise. Hope this holds everyone over until November when WB will probably officially release this in time for Oscar season.

Enjoy!

:D
