The Dark Knight Rises The Dark Knight Rises Trailer Thread - Part 4

Also, it should be noted that Bane has joined up with Ra's and the league of assassins several times, so it's entirely possible he is with them. Bane could take out the Batman, the League could deal with the politics and economics, and Catwoman probably just gets caught in the middle or finds out more than she is supposed to.

Funny enough, Catwoman figured into the story where Bane is with the League of Assassins too. She's locked up in the underground base that Ra's and Bane are working out of.

I think the guy who's falling from the well in the trailer is Bane, in the same context as the shot of him climbing up it in the teaser.

My thoughts exactly. I really think he captures all of Gothams elite so that he knows where Batman is, even if he doesn't necessarily know the individual's identity.
Interesting. So you think he gets imprisoned, escapes, and then Bane finds out Bruce is Batman, and then he shatters his mask?

It would stop him because Bane knows he has Batman in his grasp, assuming he is able to corral all of the wealthy. Bane knows that Bat isn't going to show up and try to thwart him, since Bat is not in great standing with Gotham (we assume). So Bane kidnaps the wealthy and holds them all prisoner.

Wayne can't don the Batsuit to stop him before the kidnapping, since that would boil over emotions from back when Dent died and be too much of a risk. And Wayne can't try to escape the prison Bane has him in, because that would point to him being the Bat.

Does that make more sense? I know my original thought process was a bit convoluted.

I think its plausible that Bruce may have to do just that in order to save Gotham. I hope if there is any sort of "reveal" of his identity, that it's only to those people, the rich elite, so that he inspires them to do something with their wealth to help the city. I think that could be very powerful actually.

Theory.

Streets of Gotham cleaned, little crime. Batman & Gordon have been successful.

Corruption and greed moves from the criminals to the rich/wealthy/elite/polititians of gotham.

Explains Selina's chat with Bruce and Mayor getting rid of Gordon (no longer needed, likes his cushy set-up).

Bane & league of shadows come to clean up / destroy Gotham, a job they did not need to do since Batman was successful orginally in fixing gotham.

Bane defeates/brakes Batman, releases all the criminals, rules Gotham and becomes the Gotham of crime again (from Batman Begins & The Dark Knight)

Comes full circle, Bruce retrains, becomes Batman again, defeats Bane and brings order to Gotham yet again.

There may be elements of truth to that but as a whole I'm expecting much better.

Can someone please link me to a super HD download of the trailer?

That was Legacy, right? I can barely remember any of the details on that, and the TPB is infamously hard to find for cheap...

Sorry if this has been posted already, I didn't feel like sorting through 4 threads and over 30 pages to seen.

But are we taking this as definite proof that the Bat will be Broken?

I certainly am...

Honestly, I think Bane kidnaps the wealthy and I think Selina is involved because of the comment she makes to Wayne at the ball. Granted, I don't think Selina knows she is furthering Bane's purpose, but that lends itself to Banes brilliance more than anything. By doing this, Bane ensures that even if he doesn't know who Batman is, he knows where he is (in his captivity) because of the funds Batman must have access to on a regular basis.

I think Wayne might try and escape, and is found out - then identified for being Batman due to a lack of fear that the rest of the wealthy captives have a healthy dose of. Granted, Im still a bit shaky on this last part - trying to piece together a viable story line from the details we've gathered.

I think eventually Wayne will get out, with or without Selina's help, and have to face Bane as the Bat - and at that point, everyone probably knows who Batman is to begin with. However, Wayne will still don the costume, because the Bat is more of a symbol than a man.
