The Dark Knight The-Dark-Knight's Joker-Observation-What's the Twist?

Carving yourself is not a sign of insanity but an indication of inclination towards emo. Goddammit, what in Joker's 70 year old history ever HINT at a possibility of self mutilation? Seriously, are all of you so eager to forgive horrid character mistakes by branding them as "actions of a loony". Well then, I dont see wh yany of you would have a problem with a bare feet rastafarian Joker. I mean he is clearly crazy... sheesh...

Yes. He's been cured of his deformities, only to purposely **** up his appearance again.

yeah, cutting your face off is totally normal.. :whatever:

Or maybe it´s like Bats´ makeup around the eyes. He has it and magically doesn´t have it anymore. Maybe it´s just a thing of saving Heath some time in the makeup department. Maybe we´re just asked for some suspension of disbelief on this one. Maybe he just looks like normal and when he takes off the mask we see that horrifying monster...:o

I just hope the twist is dark and gritty, something perfectly in tune with Nolan's realism.

Remember when Heath says pay attention to the eyes in his interviews? What does he mean the panda circles, or something more important??

he's wearing contacts that say "ha ha" on them

he means there's reflections of Green Goblin in his eyes :ninja:

ha. he actually said his performance will be "more about the eyes" than the laugh

^I forgot he said that, which is interesting since in both of the pics officially released we have yet to see his eyes open.

He has had them open just he looks drugged

Alonsovich your avatar is hilarious

Maybe he doesn't really have eyes, so he just paints them on his face!

yea i also noticed we haven't seen him with his eyes open. i thought it was a small thing at the time...hmmm.

his eyes look red in the bank pic wearing the mask.

When he's wearing the mask in the bank pic, you can see there is no black around the eyes.

But in the blurry IMAX pic which is suppose to be the same scene, he has panda circles around the eyes...so he applies the black circle makeup while in the bank...?

True..We've seen the on-set pics, doesn't look very important, but maybe it's something they add in-film after the films done shooting. (CGI effects, etc.)

Post directed towards Wikum

I have a habit of overanalysing. The whole eyes closed thing is probably a coincidence - I was just throwing it out there.

Like Johnny Deep in Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

No, not for Joker.

I can imagine the scene now...

JOKER: Excuse Mr. Bank Manager, but where is your lady's room? I need to put my face on.

5 minutes later

JOKER: I'm back. Now...hand over all your cash and valuables!

The irony is that it's not so much Nolan as his fans who profess that realism, and even moreso in that he's not really making this super-realistic in the first place.

Had Nolan really aimed for ultra realism, we would have just another Ninja fighting some John Wayne Gacy wannabe.
How realistic is a man who dresses as a bat anyway ?

or we wont see a close up when he is in the clown mask and he has the paint under the mask.

i doubt that he would apply the paint in the bank. it would chepane the movie and the story IMO
