Yeah, it's over. Once the MCU X-Men race past a billion with ease and double anything the Fox films ever did people will see it as the no-brainer it is. Most people do now, but even the ones in denial (or the ones denying for the sake of it) will no longer be able to refute common sense.

Even if it’s makes $700 million, Disney will have second thoughts about ending the franchise. Money will ultimately rule the day, if any movie makes $500 million or more, it would be hard and stupid for a studio to say no more sequels.
There is a good chance that this movie will be the biggest X-Men movie to date, ending it now would be silly. Disney is not that dumb.
Even of this movie made a billion and it WON'T, but even if it did this franchise is TOAST. If u think otherwise then u are sadly mistaken. No matter how much (or little) it makes the Marvel team will think to themselves, "we can make it make even more'. And they're probably right. Who would bet against Marvel w.their track record!?

If they have plans to fold them into the MCU they won't want to carry the baggage that FOX left them, the convoluted and confusion timelines, and 20 years of under developed characters and don't get us strayed on the iconic storylines ruined!! Marvel will cherish being able to tell their own stories and not being confined in any way to decisions made by other people.

People trust the MCU brand and therefore can't wait to see what Marvel does with the X men. Mark my words it's 100% getting rebooted and I would be willing to wager I'm right.

So fans of Fox's X men get those tears out the way cuz a new day is coming!!!

As a fan of the Fox X-Men of course it’s sad to see it end but we all should be so pumped for what Marvel will bring to the table. We will get iconic action, amazing costumes, great characterizations. And get to see these characters interact with all the other characters. It’s sad of course but the future is so bright for our fav mutants. I can’t wait to see. The Fox movies will always be cherished and X-Men is the reason comic book movies became a thing again. Now they deserve the proper attention.

You give Endgame 3/10 and then come here saying all this stuff. It all feels a bit suspicious.

It looks like an agenda going on TBH.

But I do think that X-Men SHOULD be rebooted and WILL be rebooted. Nothing against the cast on a personal level but they were never cast to be lead roles at the front of the story. Sophie herself always comes across as a little cold, unrelaxed and stiff. Alexandra think she is playing 'a cartoon' but admits she is always in the background of the shot.

Fox just hasn't got a good grasp of the IP, it's just been using it to promote certain actors. There have just been too many frustrations and shortcomings over the years. Continuity has been terrible, things are ignored from one film to the next, the only thing consistent about this franchise is its inconsistency. It just isn't how Disney works at all.

apocalypse only did 544m, barely got its budget back(inclding promotion/marketing budget).
this probably has same budget or more.. hopefully "final x men" marketing works and do good as final movie..

Money will always rule the day, always. There is no way the world Disney is going to give up on $700 million franchise, it doesn't matter how anyone on this thread feels about FoXmen, if it's make money it's staying.

Yes I gave Endgame 3/10, I also gave Infinity Wars 10/10, which has absolutely nothing to do with Dark Phoenix.

sony ran to feige even after tasm2 earned 700+mil, but disney is somehow gonna make a sequel to the movie that went way over budget if it makes that same amount?
lol.

Well, Disney is not Sony. I don’t see what one have to do with the other.
Sony has made a lot of decisions, Disney is smarter than them.

Thankfully you won't be the one making this decision.

So let's just see how it all pans out.

I can't believe you seriously want this franchise to continue. It's run its course and run out of steam, to an extent where the Dark Phoenix story is being repeated in a way reminiscent of X3. As if that's the only tale there is to tell. And then to tell it without Lilandra, without Shi'ar, without Imperial Guard, without Starjammers, without M'Krann crystal, without Hellfire Club, without the moon battle or any cosmic elements. Fox has not done justice to the X-Men.

You really think if Disney was in Sony's shoes in 2014, they would've continued making Amazing Spider-man films after ASM2 made $700Mil?

I'm sure that looks good on paper right? $700Mil (Fox would kill for that number for an X-men movie...). But that movie only made $200Mil in North America on a $250Mil+ budget (some say it was as high as $293Mil) plus a $100Mil Marketing budget. The studio also gets diminishing returns from OS vs Domestic, so studios always strive to make more money in North America.

It also got eviscerated by critics. Fanboys were not happy with it either. It got toxic word-of-mouth. Its lead was throwing tantrums, not attending important meetings with Sony studio heads. The Japanese head honchos were not happy with the actor.

Now tell me, would Disney really want to continue with that iteration of the franchise? And would they be smart if they did?

$750 mill at least. This is guaranteed because its the last X-men movie for a while and Kinberg is writing and director.

I figured. The hype for this movie is just not there. It'll probably make around the same as Apocalypse or even less.
I'm guessing a little less - especially with the competition it'll have.

What’s worse than a $50Mil opening weekend is that this will be the first movie in the franchise to not open at No. 1. And it won’t even be close. Secret Life of Pets 2 is projected to make $80Mil opening weekend.

But apparently what’s more important to Kinberg is that this does well in China so...

This is a ridiculous statement, Endgame has nothing to do with this discussion.
After I see DP I might give it a 3/10 too.
People need to accept the fact that everyone is not going to like all MCU movies. It doesn’t mean someone has an agenda, it means some people just don’t like the movie.

Why are you so desperate for the FoxMen to continue at Disney? What more does this franchise have to offer? They've just gone full circle and are redoing a story they did in 2006, which this time will remove several key players from the story.

Unless you work for Fox, or are one of the people involved in this movie, there is no real reason to want to see this franchise continue to limp along like this. The FoxMen have been creatively exhausted, and yet still not reached the IP''s potential. How much more silent Storm, non-entity Nightcrawler, badly done Beast, absent Jubilee, absent Psylocke, absent Angel, dead Emma Frost are you wanting to see. The cupboard is bare for the FoxMen. A new beginning at Disney, starting completely from scratch is the only hope.

For the 2010s, its gonna join Ghost Rider spirit of Vengeance and Fant4stic as the only Marvel movies not to open at 1.

And for a X-Men movie, its just not a good look.

So now I’m desperate, work for Fox or involved in this movie?
Really, are you serious?:funny:
All because I don’t see things your way.

no, because you dont see the franchise as it really is.

xmaniac just explained it perfectly in front of you. Dont you really see all that bad treatment to all those x-men? or you just want to see Gambit 2.0 treated the same way too?
