Seeing that it’s apparently supposed to be Sgt. Rock?? And wondering if there’s any wiggle room in that canon for there to be some gay **** going on…

It'd also likely be an Elseworld film if it's legit. I already see people whining about putting the cart before the horse, but who gives a damn lol it'd be a pulpy war film from Luca Guadagnino. That sounds like the most watchable film ever.

Sgt. Rock stories seldomly have interactions with other mainline heroes, except in the biggest of crossovers. The only mainline non-crossover story that I can recall him interacting with a character would be his very short appearance in Up in the Sky.

It’s not like they’ll have him joining the JL. It’ll probably be a war film that has the DC logo at the beginning and otherwise has minimal reference to the bigger world it exists in. It likely will be similar to the approach taken by Marvel Studios in Werewolf by Night.

And I’m excited for that approach.

Yeah I feel like it would be a reference type deal in other movies that is not necessarily important but cool for those in the know.

I'm down for a Bane×Deathstroke movie. I'd put Gareth Evans on a short list to direct.

Unless it is an animated film VOD I think it stinks of a bomb. No backstory or buildup? Half the people won't recognize Bane (that isn't Tom Hardy and his weird mask and voice) and wonder who the Deadpool knockoff is.

I think this is a rat trap. Looking for leakers...

I think that feels a little dismissive of the GA. Both characters have been around long enough and in enough media that they'll have a basic grasp of them. And if not then a live action movie is a huge opportunity to learn. By that logic IP like swamp thing and Blue beetle wouldn't make it to the big screen.

I'm of the opinion this is actually a Secret 6 movie, and they're just on the team. But if it is a team up, there's at least potential for a hard hitting action movie.

It's nice to see that some people welcome the idea, but this just reminds me how DC/Warner were announcing/throwing whatever ten years ago only to have... nothing.
Gunn has a plan in place, and while I'm not a fan of share universe, I think they should stick to it and wait for the fallout from its first projects.

Also, if they really want to add one or two things, I feel like another villain team is a bit stale now.
Sure, the tone could be different, but I feel like it could be perceived as another “Suicide Squad/Thunderboalt/whatever Sony is doing soon”.

Now if they want to do something really new like Kirby's Demon... I won't say a word.
