DC Films The DC Studios News and Discussion Thread

Honestly with Black Adam "flopping", it should lead us one step closer for WBD to do a real reboot of the DC (Cinematic) Universe.

I can't see Blue Beetle and Shazam 2 doing bigger numbers at the boX office. Even if the budget is smaller, it wouldn't encourage the studio to step outside of the more popular heroes (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash) and try another lesser known character to launch a franchise.

So for 2024 and beyond, it'd be just Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Joker, Aquaman and the Flash - then another reboot or JL.

We need a clear storyline leading up to a clear big bad at the end of the films, ie, Darkseid or the anti-monitor.

Each film would be connected but have it's own separate villain storyline, ie, GL sinestro, superman Brainiac etc, but each film would also have the big bad's presence felt in it's background.

I'd have the spectre cameo in all the films to warn heroes and villains alike of the coming threat.
Unfortunately they couldn't do this when the newest Batman is set in another continuity.

The Batman film was successful but it can't help its fellow DC films that much if it set in another continuity. Black Adam didn't get any boost from The Batman. The same thing for Shazam 2 in March. And it looks like Reeves has no plan for a multiverse crossover.

So either we wait for another Batman reboot or Batfleck suddenly gets a solo fiĺm.

I thought the plan was there would be two different Batmen. One in their own continuity and solo films and one in the DCEU and for crossovers. They just seem to can't make up their mind if it's Keaton or Affleck. :p

This plan wouldn't benefit the smaller DC films and in the long run, could even hurt the Batman films. Why watch The Batman 2 when Batfleck and Keaton is teaming up with other DC heroes. Then why anticipate Dceu Batman when he's having solo films with an actor not tied to dozen of films (mostly poorly reviewed films).

And there's also 2 Jokers right now both set in a different continuity. I feel like they would cancel each other out for the people who can't keep up with every Dc film, leading to lower boX office numbers.

Letoker doesn't exist. He can't hurt you.

Phoenix Joker made more than a billion when Letker existed so there's nothing to worry about.

Kill Batman in the DCEU. His inclusion in that universe at this point feels unnecessary and only serves to create confusion within the audiences.

I agree. Kill Batman and highlight the Gotham Knights moving forward instead.

Rumors flying around that Andy Muschietti will be announced as the director of Justice League 2 very soon.

Fine with me. I don’t want a multiverse story this soon though. Just do Omac Project/Tower of Babel with Waller or close out the Darkseid arc first

That seems so out of the blue that i dont put much thought into it.
Yeah we get Cavill back, but the rest...we have no idea.
A JL2 seems to me the wrong thing to do either way.

As i keep saying, we need to move forward instead of backwards.
But Andy Muschietti seems like not the worst choice for such a movie in general.

James Gunn teasing Lobo on his Mastodon account.

Yeah agree. He SHOULD have been cast as Lobo and not Aquabro.

It's literally one of those once in a lifetime missed opportunities.

Why do I get the feeling that they're going to just rush these films out to play catch up to Marvel if this is true...
What are they rushing exactly? Most of the JL is firmly established already.
