I would agree... but with Gunn pushing his Superman and hinting that Wonder Woman will feature in the first 3 years of the slate, it just feels a little strange that Batman would be on the sidelines.

It would be nice to see The Trinity together (and done in the right way).

He seems to be against having two versions of the same character at the same time.

I really doubt this is for just a “couple” of projects. KC Walsh is clearly going off of Gunn’s tweet about announcing a “handful” of projects.

Based on latest developments I think we’ll get:

1. Confirmation of a hard reboot;
2. Date for Superman;
3. Date for The Batman 2, and confirmation it and Joker 2 are separate from the DCU;
4. Dates for Peacemaker season 2 and Penguin;
5. Announcement of a few 2024 TV series set in the DCU (maybe Checkmate, Mister Terrific);
6. Gotham City Sirens film, featuring a new DCU Batman and date; and
7. If a hard reboot is confirmed then a date for a new WW film.

Just the way things are done, I guess. Gives them a healthy relationship to the press, and the press needs time to actually write their articles.

The press always attends to such events in advance, and they have pre-written articles, the reasons why are obvious. It's always like this, what's the big deal?
Nothing is going to leak because they sign NDAs, and none of them is going to want to damage their relationship with said studio.
It will be announced in just over 12 hours, calm down.

I agree with this logic... but it will still feel strange to have a DCU up and running with Batman off in his own little ''Elseworlds'' trilogy.

I want the focus to be on Pattinson, but no DCU ensemble is complete without Batman in my eyes. It definitely a dilemma.

I only see a few viable options:

- Incorporate Battinson into the new DCU, without actually having him show up. Mention him by name, video footage, etc. It's like Timm/Conroy's Batman going from B:TAS to Justice League. It can be done if handled with care.

- Bring in a new Batman actor for cameo appearances only to avoid stepping on Pattinson's cape too much.

- Have Nightwing/Batwoman/someone represent the Bat-Family with Batman ''away'' on a mission.

- If all else fails... Batman Beyond...

Superman, Wonder Woman if possible, and any clues as to the general structure of things going forward.

A couple of random projects that have been mentioned a few times by various posters like Zatanna, Etrigan or GCS would be nice.

I'm tempering expectations for whatever they're announcing. I'm hoping to at least get some sort of vision from Gunn as to how he's shaping this new universe. If i at least get that, I'm happy. I dont need 6 different film announcements.

They should release those titles where they have faith in it and will happen 100 %. If they go the Marvel-Route, releasing 20 titles at once and then re-schedule, pushing back or cancel projects for taxes, twitter will burn. Who remembers those things who are announced and cancelled? Amazon series, Black Canary, Booster Gold, Sirens, several GL projects, Justice League 2, Night Wing, Batwoman...

Let them do their first steps and be patient.

I'm watching Grace Randolph's livestream where she's talking about it and i am really surprised at the amount of fans that are basically saying Gunn needs to force Matt Reeves to make his Batman canon with the DCU. That really baffles me that theres so many people out there who are seemingly ok with monkey wrenching that in there. Cuz, you know, it always works out so well when directors are forced to compromise their visions like that.

I don't think super-unlikely. It's a high-profile character Gunn can introduce and hype without stepping on the 2023 films.

I honestly couldn't care less about Pattinson, I wasn't blown away by The Batman and his performance and would be more than happy with him not being in the DCU.

Ehhh I've watched a lot of Grace Randolph over the years. She hates everything that doesn't align with her very specific version of what it should be until she sees it. Almost 0% chance she will be positive tomorrow.

I wouldn’t get to worked up about tomorrow. I mean the YouTubers who loved the Snyderverse are going to trash it, the anti Snyderverse will love it and the Grace Randolph’s will hate because they didn’t do a full reboot. Grace is already trashing the DCU on twitter because Jason Momoa might play two characters. Let’s just try to give the DCU a chance.
