DC Films The DC Studios News and Discussion Thread

By contrast, the Tomorrowverse will only have lasted for four years and seven movies (if the multi-part installments are condensed).

The DC Showcase shorts Adam Strange, and Kamandi: The Last Boy on Earth! also fall under the Tomorrowverse. And Constantine - The House of Mystery was apparently to bridge the gap between the DCAMU and the Tomorrowverse.

I think most of us had guessed by now that Crisis pt 3 would be the final entry.

Definitely not my first choice, but not going to lose sleep over it either. Also, no idea what Gunn has planned for Max Lord.

Look at what Gunn did to Adam Warlock in GotG Vol. 3, and Will Poulter was clearly in the best shape of his life for that role. Looked like perfect casting, but the writing of that character was a disappointment.

So now Sean Gunn is playing three characters in this new universe.

Aside from Corenswet and Brosnohan, pretty much all the other castings for this movie have left me at different levels of disappointment. However, this one is the first I would consider to be in the 'hot garbage' territory.

I was hoping Glenn Howerton would play the role.

I see the usual people take this "news" very well...ah comic fandom, never change.
Im waiting to see what Gunn says about that first.

Not a huge fan if true, but i didnt like Pascal in the role either...and i dont care for the character.
So im relative uninterested either way.
I know too little about the vibe and all to cry or so about it.
Its all a matter of seeing first.
He can not be worse than Eisenberg as Lex...so there is that.

And also, at this point i feel like the Comic book fandom should be the one that is the most open to unexpected castings considering the history we have with them turning out to be fantastic.

This may be stupid but.
What if the reason Gunn cast his brother as Maxwell Lord is because he wants to make Maxwell Lord kind of a self-insert? Maxwell is the manager and moneyman of the Justice League, Gunn is the CEO of DC Studios. I dunno. That's the kind of thought process that'd lead to him casting his brother.

You wanted Glen Howerton to play a character that likely is a side character at best? Maxwell was mostly a nobody and almost assuredly doesn't have a large part in the story which is why Sean is playing him. Glen isn't taking that role...

I think some of you need to go back and read the Justice League International run. First of all it is great, second if you do you will probably understand the hiring more. Sean Gunn isn't the Max Lord running Checkmate and killing Ted Kord...he is a rich con man who is trying get rich off the league who fits a Gunn script perfectly.

I gotta say I get the feeling the JLI is an *ahem* endgame here. And I am here for it! I want to watch Blue and Gold steal J'onn's cookies!

He also just didn't do anything! Aside from save Star Lord at the end, I couldn't tell you much of what he did.

RIP Andre Braugher.

Andre Braugher, ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ and ‘Homicide: Life on the Street’ Star, Dies at 61

A great actor, gone too soon. Would have loved to see more animated films with his Darkseid:

Makes sense. I've liked the current one, even if I feel it unnecessary and only there because Marvel Studios had one for the MCU movies. There's a reason it didn't appear until Wonder Woman.

Either way, that's fine.

Not that anyone would remember this but way back prior to AT&T I said this would happen on this board. My reasoning was different (they have had a good relationship for a while through CBS) and it just made sense.

I'm like Nostradamus! Plus two of my most used apps ;)

There is a lot of great properties involved in this deal...could be fun if Zazlov isn't in charge :p
