The "Easter Eggs/References" Thread (Spoilers)

Regarding some people saying that the Infinity Gauntlet isn't in the Weapons Room. It is.

I saw it again today specifically looking for the Infinity Gauntlet.

When the Destroyer is blowing up the Frost Giants, the second blast shoots across one of the areas where the artifacts are kept. It's in their but it gets covered by the blast instantly. It's certainly a pause moment for the blu-ray/dvd.

I liked that they referenced Thursday as Thorsday in that Myths and Legends book :)

I noticed

1- Eye of Agamotto, the Infinity Gauntlet appears when the Frost Giants attempt to take the Casket of Ancient Winters during Thor's Inauguration.
2- JMS is the 1st person to attempt to pick up the hammer Mjolnir in the desert.
3- Jane gives Thor Donald Blake's clothing attire, and Jane then gives Thor the alias name Donald Blake to Agent Coulsen .
4- Eric mentions Bruce Banner as the Gamma Scientist taken by S.H.I.E.L.D.
5- Hawkeye is the guard with the Bow when Thor attempts to get Mjolnir from Shield.
6- Stan Lee 's cameo as the guy ripping off his truck bed.
7- Thor refers to Jane that the nine realms is known as the Cosmic Tree of Life
8- When the Destroyer armor appears the agent refers to it as possibly being related to Tony Stark
9- The Avengers preview after the credits with Loki disguised as Erik Selvig meeting with Nick Fury who shows him the cosmic cube.

Here's an Easter Egg I spotted tonight: When the Warriors Three are attacking the Destroyer there is a wide shot of the town, and on a the right side of the screen is a billboard ad for a vacation trip that's called a "journey into mystery." :awesome:

No Eye of Agamotto. There's the Warlock Eye.

Not really an easter egg, but amusing....there's a sign in the town mentioning that it is the HOME OF THE VIKINGS.

So I take it once Banner turns into the Hulk in the arctic, SHIELD comes in and takes him to their HQ? (All this off screen)

lol Yeah I saw that in one of the promo shots. The Town doesn't look big enough to have a sports team. lol

I was a bit taken back by Selvig's comments about SHIELD coming in and making Banner disappear. That didn't happen in TIH so I worry now that Whedon is almost going to pretend TIH didn't happen in the Avengers.

By the time we get to TIH, Banner had been on the run for 5 YEARS.

I don't think it'd be much of a stretch to presume that in those 5 years SHIELD eventually became involved in the Bruce Banner situation.

Just because it wasn't explicitly shown in the movie doesn't mean it didn't happen.

...must everything be spoon fed to the audience?

They should show Hulk being captured in The Avengers.

Avengers should open with the team believing that they were brought together to bring in/take down the Hulk:

(After a large battle)...The Green Goliath, HULK, flies through a building, bringing it down. The blow from THOR's mighty hammer sending him flying. Smoke and debris fill the screen. Hulk lands, unconscious. Thor, lands beside his new teammates and Director NICK FURY.

THOR (amused)
This is the task you saw too great for the son of Odin?

STARK
Gotta' agree with Goldie Locks on this one. Seems like it was a one man mission, two tops.
(points at Barton)
Him and Eagle Eye over there could have easily--

BARTON (interrupting/correcting)
Hawkeye.

STARK
Right, Hawkeye--he and Hawkeye could have taken care of this, one, two, three. I really don't see the need to include the rest of us in this mission...

The dust begins to settle, Fury walks towards it and turns.

FURY
Mission?
(beat)
This was a recruitment. Team, I would like you to meet your newest member...

BRUCE BANNER, torn and tattered, emerges from the smoke, staggering.

FURY (Cont'd)
Dr. Bruce Banner.

That would be a great introduction to Hulk joining the Avengers.

heh I'll have to look at the high res photos for that. I remember someone saying something about that before the movie was out.

This is an abreviated versions....ie: "after a long battle" I just didn't feel like writing out the whole battle, lol. Maybe a 5-10 minute struggle before he's taken down...

yup This is what you saw, not the Eye of Aggamotto

In the town there is a billboard for a trip to Norway that says Journey into Mystery.

Wasn't there a deleted scene in TIH DVD of Banner being the Arctic? I think that's the reference they are talking about.

I was wondering when someone was going to point out this one. You can see it in the trailer and in several scenes through out the movie [ long before the Destroyer shows up ] like when they establish the town and when Jane is in her garage/office/building thing she works out of.

Finally spotted the Infinity Gauntlet in Thor, when the Destroyer killed the Frost Giants! Sweet) I hope we will see more artifacts from Odin's Vault in the First Avenger: Captain America movie.

My guess is that Cap will take the [BLACKOUT]cosmic cube[/BLACKOUT] from the Red Skull when he defeats him, and that's where Nick Fury got it.

Was pretty mad at myself for not recognizing more of the things in Odins vault. Felt like I let down my own comic knowledge. :(

When Ken keeps saying fans should keep there eyes open for what ISN'T in the vault - Is he referring to the cube?

possibly, If you noticed in the scene with Thor as a kid Mjolnir is still IN the Vault. I hadn't thought to look then until it was too late too look.
Red Skull finds a Tomb/Vault of Odin's on Earth in First Avenger.

Cheers man - That's what I thought.

does anyone think think thor should have came last and captain america first given the timeline and post credit scene? My wife just kept asking well what is that? I think if people would have saw cap first it would have made more sense.
