We knew the plot of TE1 in October 2008.

It's isn't Inception or Prometheus, this is a movie with Dolph Lundgren in the cast.

As soon as I finished watching the movie the first time,I thought"I'd love to see a sequel with a good&bad team and big stars in both teams",It would be interesting seeing Lundgren playing a good guy and having a fight scene against JCVD now playing a bad guy!!

Simon West To Direct The Expendables 2

EXCLUSIVE: After a long search, Simon West is the choice to direct The Expendables 2, the sequel to the 2010 surprise hit action film. West, who most recently directed the CBS Films remake of The Mechanic with Jason Statham and Ben Foster, also directed Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The General's Daughter. Production begins in the summer.


The sequel is expected to have back an original cast that includes Sylvester Stallone, Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews and Jet Li. Stallone directed the original, which grossed $275 million worldwide, $103 million domestic. The film's produced by Millennium Films and will be released by Lionsgate. West is repped by CAA.

Well...At least West knows how to shoot a action scene. That's one of the main things I hated in the first movie...the erratic action scenes were hard to make out.

I don't know when the Expendables 2 is supposed to start shooting but last I heard the Rock confirmed his self that he will be playing Roadblock in the new G.I. Joe movie. Considering that Joe 2 and E2 open with in a week of each other I'm guessing that they will be shooting at the same time. But like I said I don't know when E2 starts filming and I also don't know when Joe 2 starts filming either.

I wish we would get a release date for the Expendables: Extended Cut. Sure I can watch it on Epix HD but I woul;d rather have it on Blu Ray.

Eh, not too impressed with this news, Con Air is the only good movie the guy has ever made, hopefully Sly will still have a strong input though.

Not sure how I feel about Simon West directing. I love Con Air but his other work is awful, IMO. But maybe he can re-capture what he brought to Con Air and make this good. If this movie's anything like Con Air I think it can turn out good.

How much was it extended by?

I've read that it's 10 minutes longer but me and my dad where talking and think it's longer. There is a new title sequence with the Sully Erna song Sinners Prayer, the Fry and Die(where they scout Vilena) scene is a longer alternate version, they added the Shinedown song Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom to the final battle and the credits and the are a few things things that have been added.
