Even when the first Expendables movie was coming together people were questioning why Chuck Norris wasn't involved. While Norris hasn't actually been in a movie since 2005, his career has been kept alive by the internet, with the "Chuck Norris Facts" meme becoming insanely popular and staying that way for years. Fortunately Sylvester Stallone has rectified his error from the first movie and has given a role to the action star in The Expendables 2. Now the first image of him has arrived online.

Similar to the photo featuring Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis that popped up earlier this month, the photo is posed, but filled with just as much star power. In addition to Norris, the picture includes co-stars Dolph Lundgren and Terry Crews. Check it out below or full size over on Worst Previews.

Also, Antonio Banderas turned down Expendables 2 due to a scheduling conflict and expressed disappointment at that, but would consider Expendables 3:

“They asked me to do ['Expendables 2'], I don’t think at this point I will have the time. I am very disappointed that it didn’t work out. [As for 'Expendables 3']… you never know I will have to talk to Sly.”

I hope he returns and we can see some action scenes with him that are shot better. I still enjoyed the hell out of his fight with Dolph, but it was a bit sloppy.

It was directed by the second unit director because Sly was busy shooting other scenes concurrently. Hence why in the film he spends the duration of that action scene unconscious in his car.

More of the same B.S. as the first. The producers wanted PG-13. Thankfully Sly came through for us and it's an R rated film. Luckily this time around it's before filming and not during post production!

and is exactly why I didn't want Norris to be in this. As far as i'm concerned, he's lost a lot of "action star" cred with all the jokes they've made about him throughout the years…

I promise you there will be at least a few chuckles when he first appears on screen.
