Packing Doom's origin with the FF (again...) is a time saver, but I would look at the list Krystal made (Thanks to Willie for quoting it):
This flick comes in among the running times of the above, and under the 100mins Willie notes there. Could it be an exception to the rule? Stranger things have happened...But based on the trailers and other things we know I can't say I'm confident of that.
It could be the exception to any one rule, but can it be the exception to every rule?
Sure the production was troubled, but it still might be good.
Sure Jeremy Slater has only written one other film and that was terrible, but it still might be good.
Sure Simon Kinberg has written mostly stinkers, but it still might be good.
Sure Trank is inexperienced, unproven and got fired from his next film, but it still might be good.
Sure it has a late embargo and that almost always indicates a bad film, but it still might be good.
Sure it has a very short run-time and that almost always indicates a bad film, but it still might be good.
Sure the trailers make it look cliché and uninteresting, but it still might be good.
Sure it's a film about Josh Trank's man-boobs and not the FF, but it still might be good.
Sure it's a remake of the first film and that didn't work for ASM, but it still might be good.
Those are a LOT of odds to defy when you add it all up.
