I still wanna know where he got that idea from...

I mean of course not every superhero movie gets high schores but it's not the uncommon/unheard of

My friend (who is a major apologist for this film) agreed with that quote and used the fact some Marvel Studios films have scores in the 70s as proof that it's true. Critics are biased against superhero films.

I pointed out that the not only are the 70s within the fresh range, it is often enough for a film to become certified fresh, which is literally the Rotten Tomatoes seal of quality.

RIP F4

And this is Trank's career:

Since he saw fit to post a pic of a sleeping dog on his Twitter account to antagonise fans way back when.

Yes, because FFINO at around 9% rotten is the same as 70 % fresh. :o

I can't link the review because of the cussing, but you guys have to go check out moviebob's review.

"A cheese grater across the nuts of genre film"

"godforsaken diarrhea swamp of filmmaking"

"sphincter-blistering idiocy"

Dyin' here. :funny:

How Fox had a cast this talented and made such a miserable pile of **** is beyond me.
Cause they fear the inevitable Feige invasion.

I think FOX really helped Marvel out here with FFINO. Marvel's The FF is going to have virtually nothing in common with Fant4stic. New cast, new tone, 60s setting, real Doom, humor, young Janet and Hank, Peggy Carter, Howard Stark - you can slot this immediately after Infinity War.
I feel Marvel's FF should be better off as a Netflix series due to the poor taste every single movie of them have had in people's mouths. But having them show up in other movies would be great like GOTG 2's after credits scenes or maybe a future Spidey movie if they ever use the Black suit.
I'm saddened by how many of you are so insensitive and quick to forever damn the X-Men in mediocre hands.
Well doesn't the X-Men rights also include Deadpool? And Deadpool's reception is the exact opposite of this, going by the trailer. Plus Fox seems like the only people who'd make an R-Rated Deadpool.

I don't really feel sorry for Trank or the cast.

Michael B. Jordan was an a-hole from the start. Maybe it was the race thing that pushed him to say things but his attitude about the books and the fans makes it hard to feel sorry for him or Miles Teller. He had the same "screw the fans" attitude from day one.

I do feel bad for Kate Mara. She genuinely gives off the "deer in the headlights" look when talking about this production.

"Worm infested seagull droppings" is the one that really got me.

I'm backing up what you said and agreeing.

I'm not sure what Miles Teller meant either.

I think it was just a subtle "lower your expectations" hint in an effort to cushion the blow of the backlash. He probably knew by that point how things may go.

I kind of do, but on the other hand, I think actors and actresses need to learn to say no to their agents and managers sometimes.

Maybe MBJ was saying those jackass comments of "Whatever, you'll see it anyway" because of the "race" controversy? That he lashed out at the reception of his casting? Or, who knows, maybe he is just a jerk. I don't know. I think the whole "race" thing is a red herring at this point: MBJ was cast solely because he's the director's friend; so maybe that's why MBJ has been so cocky and abrasive in his comments.

Miles Teller is insufferable. Part of the reason why I loved Whiplash so much is because he was being smacked around for half of the movie. The less I say about that fratdouche, the better.

Pretty sure Teller wasn't in a frat:o

Oh man I was reading those out to my brother and couldn't finish the last one I was laughing so much :)

I'm surprised none of the reviews are actually making much of a deal about MBJ's casting and how people are supposedly racist and that's why this film is actually failing. I thought that was going to dominate the reviews and the critics would try to appear so open minded that they would naturally give this film a good score.

Yes, Deadpool looks good, for now. But this studio is also the same that gave us X2 and then proceeded to give us The Last Stand and Wolverine Origins, soo... Mediocre hands they will always remain in my eyes. That's not even counting the many other revolting pieces of crap they've dished out.
The reason is surprisingly simple: they don't care about, do not respect and do not understand the IPs they've acquired. Sure, they have a few ppl with enough knowledge about the characters. But most of them are not people with enough power to make a noticeable difference.

Also, I'd like an explanation on what brought you to the conclusion that FOX is the only entity that would give us an R rated film. ? Are you saying no other studio would ever do a Deadpool R rated movie? Or that you doubt he'd get the same treatment under Disney? Go check out Daredevil my friend.

Movie Bob nailed it.
I'm seeing this movie tonight with a free ticket I got from my theaters rewards program. I've asked five or six of my usual CBM friends to go see it with me, all of them save for one told me no and that I was wasting a ticket.
I have to see this train wreck. I just have to.

Jordan is terrible in the movie, but so is the rest of the cast. I agree that Jordan is a great actor. So maybe it's the script, but I mean...look, the whole thing just looks and feels wrong.

Does casting a black actor as Johnny Storm in a horrendous movie really improve racial diversity in big budget genre films?

I mean Johnny is hardly at the center of the film. He's the last character in the group to be introduced. He's really the least important member of the team. Does it make me racist for pointing this out?

Besides that, it's not like Johnny becomes Johnny Storm, not like how Downey becomes Tony Stark and creates a character or how Chris Evans becomes Steve Rogers. Or Charlie Cox as Matthew Murdock. He's a fairly one dimensional character with very little going on. He resents his father and wants to build cars and street race and stuff...that's about it.

that moviebob review had me LOL-ing the whole time hahaha

Agreed with what youre saying.

The funny thing is if they wanted t promote diversity or whatever, make multiple members black or hell, even though I don't like race changing making Reed Richards, smartest man in the world, black would've been more impressive to me

Even a free ticket counts for these FOXtards :cmad:

I don't think Deadpool looks good.

I liked the trailer and the tone of the promotional material so far.

It may be good. But like with everything FOX, I wont get my hopes up.

Proof is in the pudding, I guess. Once people saw the changes had no real substance and just added to the confusion that agenda got left behind with the whole mess.
