The FFINO ZONE - Part 3

Your perspective is off because you're presuming seeing a film put out by these a**holes would be a pleasurable experience.

I wouldn't derive any pleasure knowing I was putting money in the pocket of these jerks.

I used to love Woody Allen and Roman Polanski films, but there's credible evidence that both of them rape children. I can't watch their films any more because the thought turns my stomach. That's not a pleasurable experience even if the film, on its own, would be.

Fox: As punishment for not seeing FFINO, we're going to torture you Willie Lumpkin by not allowing you to watch any of our movies anymore.

Willie Lumpkin: Yes please! Torture me more! I need it to hurt!

:funny: That's pretty much it. I'll miss Fox films like I miss of the company of my psycho ex-girlfriend.

Boycotting every Fox film from here on out is like cutting your nose off to spite your face.

Just so we are clear...

Fox screwed up a F4 film...so to try to punish them you are going to punish yourself by not going to see any Fox film no matter how good certain of their films are. Sorry, but this sort of thing is just stupid. Itd be like denying yourself filet mignons for the rest of your life because you got a bad sirloin one time. The only person losing in that scenario is yourself.

Eh, I think I understand what Willie is saying. Not going to to boycott all Fox movies but right now, I have no interest in seeing any of Fox's Marvel movies. I may see Deadpool only because I know Ryan Reynolds really "gets" the property and he really wants it to succeed but just not to interested in seeing Xmen: Apocalypse because of Fox's track record and their "limits" they put on the X-verse. They really need to expand it and quite possibly go cosmic because they don't seem to building toward anything.

I like most of the X-films to varying degrees but I have the same issue. It's not a tone issue with me but I think they need to bring more fantasy into the series already. And give up the Magneto double crosses them at the end ******** already, it's tiresome.

I know, right!? He does it every. Single. Time. You'd think they'd stray from this but they don't. I know there are times when Magneto has had to team with the X-teams in the comics even at times when he doesn't feel like it but when he betrayed them, you actually could understand why he did it. Now it's like F it. He's doing it just because he's a bad guy.

Yeah its become very formulaic and predictable. They need to move on from Magneto. He's a great villain no doubt. But him being a villain for all the X-Men films have become tiresome. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned against the X-Men at the end of Apocalypse.

Unless they change tactic and force you to watch FFINO against your will:

The X-Men must be complete idiots to fall for the same trick each time.

As George W Bush says: "There's an old saying in Tennessee—I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee—that says, 'Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again" :hehe:

At this point he is just betraying them because he's the bad guy, it's childish storytelling. How about leaving Mags out of one X-Men film for once?

If sirloin is my favorite dish, and a certain restaurant has not only not done it right, but outright given me food poisoning three straight times (not "one time"), then you damn right I won't be paying for their services again. You speak of permanently denying myself fillet mignons as if I can't get that from other establishments, while getting a good sirloin while I'm at it.

Boycotting a single director because he may have raped children is one thing. Boycotting an enire production studio means you are boycotting the hard work of every single director, producer, cinematographer, script writer, editor etc and also boycotting the theaters that show those movies and a host of other people's work. All because of a single bad film that was the result of a single director and single group at Fox. Thats a massive disproportionate overreaction.

So you won't even see the critically acclaimed Planet of the Apes movies because they mishandled a completely separate franchise?

So you are not gonna see the insanely good looking The Martian because they mishandled a completely different franchise?

So if The Martian and the third Apes films turn out to be critically acclaimed films deserving of money, you won't reward the actors and the filmmakers because you didn't like one franchise the studio screwed up?

Seems reasonable.

Doesn't matter if you don't think it's reasonable. It's how I feel about it.

If a movie interests me I'll see it eventually but I don't need to pay for it in the theater. There's no law that says I have to do that. It's my money dammit.

I still haven't seen either of the Apes films yet but I do want to at some point.

I was looking forward to the Martian but again I can catch it on Redbox.

I get you.

Heck even IF I skip XM:A at the theaters, I'm still gonna buy the blu-ray (I have all the X-Men and Wolverine Blu rays, even the sucky ones).

I agree strongly with this. Quite frankly, X-Men as a franchise-not as a film suffers from Singer as the lead voice.

It's the same theme over and over. Given that Singer's own relationship with the IP it hits you over the head again and again with the metaphor.

The movies are all pretty much the same thing.

For all the talk of MCU movies all being the same, show me the differences in the X-films.

You, my friend, have NO will power. :o

Thanks man.

I'm not telling anyone what to do. Just expressing my opinion. I really love the FF. And I'm pretty bitter about this situation. Nothing I can do about it really but I sure as heck am not giving my money to a company I resent.

I do, I just never said I would swear off Fox totally.

For example, I said I would not watch FFINO and I'm not.

But I am interested in XM:A and depending what happens in the next year, I may see it in the theater, or at just at home.

Fox has ticked me off, but not to the point where I am swearing off all of the movies both at theaters and at home yet, maybe they will get me there, but that has not happened for me quite yet.

At the same time for those of you that are at that point, I understand.

I'm actually kind of kidding. I'm just drinking a tad bit of alcohol. Just so tired of Fox and their BS. I totally get your point but between MS and DC/WB, I can afford to save money with the BS Fox id doing.

Well, that's part of the reason/excuse I have why I can wait on Fox if need be...Marvel Studios has my attention and WB's new DCEU does as well.

When it comes to comic movies, WB and MS have put me at alert, so if worse comes to worse, I can wait on Fox.

For me skipping Fox's Marvel movies are means to an end. No one here can really dispute that Daredevil isn't in better hands now that Marvel has it. So to me F4, SS, DP and X-men would be no different.

As much as people enjoy Singer's half@ssed vision of the X-men, I don't see why Marvel couldn't handle it better. I'm mean it's X-men, most people watch that in spite of Fox not because of them..

But unlike X-men, F4 has a real chance of going back home which is why I spend so much time here keeping hope alive.

Wow did you really just equate putting out a bad movie to child molestation? Really....let's bring some perspective here people.

You were looking forward to The Martian. Implying that you are not anymore? Why? Because it's a Fox movie? Even though nothing about the cast, crew, or the film undergoes any tangible change with that knowledge? The film is the exact same, regardless of what name accompanies the opening.

BTW, Redbox pays Fox to be able to rent their DVD's. So if you Redbox the Martian you will still be putting money into Fox's wallet. Better to just torrent it or something.

Fine, here's perspective. This film sucked which strengthens my reasons for not supporting Fox's Marvel films.

"A single bad film"? To be fair, and I think this speaks to Willies larger point, this is their third screw up with the property. Not to mention the other four Marvel adaptions they've royally screwed up. When you want to talk about the worst CBMs in the genre, a bulk of their filmography belongs on that list. I'm not going to boycott them entirely, but I understand where he's coming from.
