The FFINO ZONE - Part 3

In 1986's The Fly, Goldblum's character, Seth Brundle, tries out the teleportation device after getting DRUNK because his new reporter girlfriend had to settle things with an old lover whom she works for because he is threating to expose the existence of the teleportation device because he was jealous that she was moving on. Cronenberg's film is one of my favorites as well Trank but I wouldn't use it as the bases for a new Fantastic Four film because that's a ridiculous idea. Make your own sci fi movie.

Via bootleg, Mr. Jordan.

I actually watched Scanners for the first time because of how much I heard it mentioned in regards to FFINO...so if any good came of this at least it pushed me to watch Scanners which I enjoyed

Is that a bootleg gif? What film is that even from?

I'm glad you brought this up, because the most disgusting thing about this film is how almost every scene is ripped off from another movie.

A few examples besides yours:

"This is going on Instagram" - directly ripped off from Thor

"There is no Victor, only Doom" - directly ripped off from Ghostbusters

The Johnny storm car race - nearly a complete shot for shot rip off of the first Fast and Furious where Paul Walker first races Vin Diesel.

The scene where the Thing is ripping up a tank is straight out of Ang Lee's Hulk.

I could go on and on....

Jason Kane didn't mean he s going to bootleg TAM. He meant he was going to bootleg FFINO

Ok. I thought maybe he meant the gif was bootleg footage, eg from Creed or something.

Can anyone remind me what were the first signs of this project was going bad?
I remember being ok with the Trank announcement and then later being happy when the director replacement talk started.
What did he do early on that turned you off? (I'm Not talking about MBJ)

FOX started the production late, meaning it took a long time between announcing the director and starting the movie. The photography started about a year ago, which seemed rushed.
When it was announced as a re-boot and there were no exterior shoots. The cast announcements. When the principal photography was over in 60 days. The leaked photos of trash bag doom and glo-light Johnny.

And much more that has already been reported.

Jesus! Compared to this turkey, those Italian animated Titanic films had originally.... Not really saying much for those wastes of celluloid. I can't wait for Nostalgia Critic to give a brand new hole though MovieBob just beat him to it

And that's why this project was doomed to failure.

Go on. I want to see what else you got. :woot:

I recieved some flack the other day in this thread for mentioning that I was going to go see this film, which I understand, but I honestly don't regret it; I'm the type of person who enjoys seeing trainwrecks. Movies that are complete failures are almost as entertaining as their top notch counter parts.
That being said, if you can find a way to see this movie for free like I did, I recommend doing so. It's truly fascinating. It's a poor movie from start to finish with glimpses of good ideas here and there, but overall a movie that is dead on arrival and completely devoid of life or personality.
If you're like me at all and enjoy watching movies that fail in nearly every capacity, this is a pretty decent one. It isn't as outright bad as Catwoman, but it's as soulless and lazy as green lantern, which I watch once every two months or so just to relish in the mediocrity. It's corporate film making from start to finish. There are far better ways to spend two hours, but if you're ever bored and want to dance on a movies grave, this is as good as any.

This was a really good article, thanks for posting.
Brings me back to the days of arguing with the folks dead set on defending this movie for no apparent reason. "Trank wasn't fired! There were no major reshoots! These are just rumors!"

This part was sad:
July 12, 2015: Kate Mara and Jamie Bell Were at Comic-Con, and No One Cared

This wasn’t revealed until months later, but the day after Fox’s Fantastic Four presentation at this year’s Comic-Con, Mara and Jamie Bell wanted to meet some Fantastic Four fans in person. So they walked out amongst the crowds to get a coffee. And presumably to get recognized, and then hang out with some comic junkies.

Says Mara: “not one person…not one person noticed us.”

This is the movie equivalent of a pile of dead canaries outside a coal mine.

It's been a long time since I've seen They Fly so I didn't remember that. Wow, explains how that awful plotline got in there. (Not that it was awful in The Fly).

This part was sad:

I feel bad for Mara. From day one she had doubts about this film and she really wanted to do some research but was told don't bother. I felt like if the film was done right that she would have done her best to get it right. Miles Teller, dude can go for a long walk on a short pier.

:whatever:
