WW just got Bill Westenhofer as the vfx supervisor.

Who is responsible for this mess?

Hey guys:

Here is the animated appearance of the Fantastic Four on Hulk and the Agents of SMASH on the last season. Guess what, it's a classic traditional version of the group! Say what you will about the show, but they gave us the actual Fantastic Four!

Hey, don't look at me. lol

I went to see Ant-Man so it wasn't me.

Has Bleeding Cool weighed in after Rich Johnston backtracked the other day?

I've been wondering whats been going on with BC for a while, up until the start of the years they were all over this film but since then they have really pulled back. When Trank "left" Star Wars they barely touched the story, not even the HR story that he was fired even though it seemed confirm a lot of what BC had been saying. For weeks after I expected them to do a follow-up waving the HR story and showing how it proved them right, but there was nothing.

Me too but he's 50-something right now, by the time his opportunity would roll around he'd be way too old imo.

Sure, but it's not like Hollywood requires people to play their age. Plus with Thing being either an extensive make-up job or cgi/mo-cap. Unless we don't get another FF film for another 7 or 8 years then I think he would be ok.

I tend to picture Reed and Ben in their late 30s or so, with Sue around 30 and then Johnny in his early 20s.

This was a really bizarre story? Was this Bleeding Cool's way of saving face in the event the movie somehow took off?

I think somebody from Fox was whispering in the ears of various bloggers and telling them it wasn't as bad as people thought.

I saw several people who had been skeptical throughout suddenly start tweeting and posting that it might be a good film and saying things like: "I've been hearing good things from my sources."

I guess they shouldn't listen to those sources in the future . . .

Willie Lumpkin, oddly enough I saw some other bloggers I am familiar with doing the same. Not sure that was directly influenced by stuff from Fox though. Is it bizarre though, yes.

I mean look, it was clear to see that Atlanta show was a friends and family type show and it was a clear last ditch attempt to spread good buzz for the film.

I mean look at this cast, most everyone was late 20's early 30's playing 18 year olds!

Kate Mara and Michael B. Jordan in fact are both older than Alba and Evans when they were cast for the 2005 film.

True I didn't really think about it. Either way I think I'd prefer John DiMaggio in the role.

Yeah and it was dumb as hell. I couldn't believe they were supposed to be teens when I first heard it. Smh

You actually have to give credit to the marketing department. They made a terrible film look good to many people.

I was never sold, but people who just saw a quick commercial here or there probably thought it looked pretty good. And then with the embargo and the previews for very biased fans, it looked like the film might not be bad right up until the reviews came out. In hindsight, the biggest mistake Fox may have made was to allow the big trades to release their reviews early. If they had kept a hard embargo in place right up until midnight Thursday, they might have tricked some people into seeing it and they might have had closer to the $40 M weekend many were predicting - which still wouldn't have been great, but much less disastrous than what actually happened.

LOL! And here many of us were saying that if this film actually turned out half way decent that the marketing department should be fired. :funny:

Personally I thought that all but the first teaser was very poor. And the teaser wasn't great but it but it wasn't bad either.

Yeah but if you're grading on a curve - sounds like they really polished up that turd.

Possible. Also possible a plant fooled them with some bogus inside buzz. Also possible they took some $$$ to do a turnabout.

Personally when I see him says this: "I’m very much looking forward to the film and have been given every reason to do so by those I trust" , either his trust was incredibly badly misplaced....or it was bought and paid for. The article was carefully worded enough that he can use the former for a cop out.

If it's anything like games media, it doesn't even have to involve money at all. Just one person you know that you're willing to shill for. All kinds of passionless frauds around there. It's easy to find a thousand loud tools, and much harder to find a couple of people who are always honest and who have passion.

I ignore about 90% of all kinds of reviewers. I mainly trust just normal people who I know who care about the medium/material. Mostly fans.

I've been trying to do some research into Constantin Film since people keep bringing it up. I haven't found much yet, but I am finding some phenomenal things on stuff they do that isn't Fantastic Four. This, for example:

This company has apparently made a film about Hitler and the dog from Frasier.

...somehow I think Marvel could clear up any issues with these guys with a check. I really think we just need to worry about Fox.

Yeah, I remember a few weeks ago saying something like: "If this is a good film, the marketing department really screwed up. If it's a terrible film, they've done a good job."

Now that we know the truth, it looks like they did a good job.

The Constantin gambit was an attempt by a legendary troll to turn attention away from the FFINO debacle. It's a non issue.

Watching this movie now. It just got to the part where it says "7 years later. " Have I really been watching it that long already? Feels like it.

Another Constantin film is called, after translation, **** You, Goethe.

F You Goethe and Hitler & Eddie from Frasier. Fantastic Four is in amazing company. Best damn production company in the world (They've also got something called "Suck Me Shakespeer", but I'm too afraid to see what that is).

Suck me shakespeer and fack ju goethe are apparently one and the same :b
A comedy that follows an ex-con who lands a position at a school that sits over the spot where money from one of his earlier robberies was stashed.
