The Final Swing

what i like about the end swing is that the camera gous around spidey. and you get the feeling that you are there with him in the air.
singer made a homage to donner.
and it was good. but i never had the feeling that i am flyign with superman.

Venom aint gonna do no final swing, dream on!...

And IF Pete and MJ do get married in the end, I see the final scene as a wedding sequence, where they get married on a hill-top (just as Peter mentiones in spidey 2)... And it'll be something small and intimite. No one will be smiling too much, cause Harry will just have passed away, so nothing will be peache-keen!...

I say break that final-swing-sequence in the third... end it with a down to earth, not too "happy" ending, with a small wedding on a mountain, and let us see Peter put that ring on MJ's finger; then end credits!

(ready to get flamed)

Whoever said venom should do the final swing needs a dirt-ass slap.

The final swing this time round needs to be tad longer and show spidey swinging with more dynamic enthusiasm, incoporating the ricochet style of swinging as part of the choreography. The last swing in sm2 sucked hippo sack, the best so far imo is obviously the last swing in sm1, the closest thing to poetry in motion.

I agree. SM2's swing was pretty bad compared to how SM1's was. I think the look of it was wrong -- too much swinging above buildings rather than between and beside them. However, I did like the one shot where he swung round a corner, I thought that bit of the swing looked cool in SM2.

comes the question where was teh web? he was above teh buildings. no building where the web could be.

I think we've already seen the end of the swing. Check the trailer, where Spidey lands in front of an American flag. The final swing ALWAYS (i.e., just Spidey 1 & 2) ends with an American flag. I would not be surprised if the before-mentioned shot is part of the final swing.

i agree because:

-the lightining( sun goes down)
-american flag
-it just screams the end swing.

it's amazing how there's been no real improvement in the CG doubles over the years... the shots look more numerous and still great, but stll plasticy, no weight/realistic sort of CG shots... The swinging spidey scene in the first film was the only one that came anything close to "reality." The swinging scenes so far in Spidey 3 and what we got in spidey 2 particularly the end haven't really been up to par... it's been a 5 year span, you figure they would make SOME bloody improvements on the digital dobule for spidey

I'm not a fan of the idea of having MJ with Spidey in the final swinging sequence. I think it would be very difficult to pull off CGI-wise, if nothing else. The one shot that we have seen from this movie of them swinging together is not the greatest, though it is unfinished.

I absolutely agree that nothing has come close to the final swinging sequence as far as the sense of awe and joy that it brings.

I wouldn't say SM2s swing sucked but SM1s was better. I hope SM3 gets close to the ground and maybe passes between the sun and the camera at some point.

I LOVE the Spidey 1 swing sequence...it still give me chills when I see the whole thing *feels chills*
And that sequence is much better than SM2's imo. In part two he not as graceful as he is in this one...he doesnt even do any cool acrobatic tricks, he just veers off to the side every now and then

Nah, I thought it sucked, from the choreography to the animation :oldrazz:

Someone post a clip of SM2s swing so I can compare. I honestly forget what the last swing looks like.

^ MJ: "Go get em tiger".... and out the window he goes... can you remember/picture it now:)???

It's a CLEAR ending. It wraps up what was established in the first two films! AND IT'S A HAPPY ENDING (which audiences love).

So, tell me: how exactly does that "suck"? Because you can't watch Spider-Man 3 without the last shot being Venom or Venom-related? Taking that route in the films WOULD suck!

I never said I wanted Venom in the final swing, I just said I thought your idea was bad. The happy ending route isn't going to work since
Harry Dies. I'd rather have the swing have something to do with him
.

I think the final swing will be the best of them all. now the first two films hand awesome final swings that blew me away but because this is the third film I'm thinking there will be a very epic final swing scene into the sun set. what I loved about the first two final swings is that they both really touched what spidey does in the comics in terms of web-swinging and I just hope that continues with this film and I think it will.

the 2nd final swing was good, but nowhere near as great as the first one!!! i'm hoping the third will be par with the first one, but i don't think any final swing will ever beat spidey 1 in my opinion.

I agree! The first one made me goosebumpy.:ninja:

The problem with the second swing was that it looked like Spidey was being "pulled" through the scenery if you know what I mean. For example, watch the part where he is whipping around the corner after he does the initial flip, if you look closely, he starts moving towards where his webline is aimed before it is even cast. The momentum he shows doesn't seem to fit which direction he's going, but for Spidey 1, the last scene was great. He looked like he was moving himself around, not shooting weblines and being pulled by some unknown force.

I totally agree. I have three problems with CG Spider:
1. Looks fake compared to final swing Spidey from the first movie
2. Sometimes the poses and movements look weird/unrealistic
3. Doesn't look like it has weight; when it swings it doesn't look like it's being pulled down properly
I seriously hope their rectify this for the next movie. The first Spider-man had the best looking Spidey in their final swing, it looked real, it's movements looked normal and fluidic, and the body seemed to fall properly. The second looked like crap. Hopefully third time's a charm.
