Yeah, it was quite bad. I heard it as I pressed fast forward on the dvr.

yeah Frodo! oh hi! i am the chick that met you in a BAR... who sent tequila shots over to you and tried jumping your bones on our second date..but you should be writing me love sonnets about our aching love for each other! hahahahahaha i dont think so!!thats freaking day time soap opera tripe right there!:cwink:

Didn't like that barry tried to get with iris the way we did to that was just stupid.

Part of the reason I hated last week's episode is I knew it would set up something like this. You know they wouldn't have wasted time having Iris kiss barry last episode and not use it for some sort of storyline in the future and as I said last week, nothing good would come out of it.

I liked this episode. Sure, the resetting of Cisco's death and Iris not knowing Barry's secret seem kind of cheap after the emotional last episode a week ago but the fact that Barry didn't get off scott free and now has to compromise himself with Cold is a decent enough consequence, IMO.

8/10

Skipping through the bad parts is what you do to terrible comic book films like Superman Returns, and FF2 Rise of the silver Surfer.

Honestly, I'm a chronic skipper, I skip in every show I watch. I usually do it when a character I like is in danger (whether physical or emotional), and then once I know how it turns out, I go back and rewatch the scene. However, with the lame attempts at love subplots here, I don't go back.

I actually do it in books, too. I'll flip forwards and do a quick scan to see if an imperilled character's name is on the page. If I see it, I go back and continue normally. This habit is why I often wait months for movies to be released digitally rather than going to the cinema.

Well the Flash love quadrangle is pretty terrible to me, so that makes sense. I'm not gonna sit through those scenes just for the sake of sitting through them. I did that with the first 15 episodes. That's enough. I'd much rather just watch the good bits then be a glutton for punishment.

I'm absolutely loving the rogues.

Interesting that they had Snart learn Barry's ID and not Heatwave like in the 80's comics.

Should make for quite a dynamic between those two. Also really liked how Barry is basically responsible for the origins of the rogues code.

Yup. The Rogues being such ruthless killers is one of the things that irked me on the show. I really was hoping they'd be professional, and not hurt anyone unless absolutely necessary. Glad to see that Snart and Barry have an understanding now, and the Rogues will now try to do their jobs without hurting innocents.

I hated this episode. Whoever wrote this needs to be canned and never write again. The whole thing was very contrived. Ugh. I hated the scene where Barry was blackmailed into letting Snart go. The cheese element of this episode was way over the top too. And don't get me started with the weapon that spits out gold. That thing could make you rich without doing any heists.

I'm still a little iffy on how the rules of time alteration affects someone like Wells.

Back when Barry had his powers zapped from the meta-human with electricity, it seemingly wiped away the existence of the Flash from Wells's future records for a moment. However, if that was the case, then Wells should have disappeared as well since his presence is a result of the Flash's existence.
I was talking about something similar with my girlfriend last night because she bought up a similar point, but basically, Wells needs Barry so that he can get back to the future, that's the end goal. He also doesn't want to mess things up by having Barry stray too far from that course. But I think Barry becoming the Flash or not will not stop Eobard from being born. But what it will do is keep the cycle going. So if Wells is stuck in the past and lives out the rest of his life here, he will still be born, but he will most likely fall down the same path of going back to the past and having this happen all over again.

I think his end game is to return to the past, but he also wants to be able to access the Speed Force at will, because his future self will not have the same knowledge that he has now when he chooses to go back.

Cold was actually pretty smart here. He put both Barry and Cisco in no-win scenarios were there were NO good options. It shows that he's more than just some brainless thug.

Lisa's weapon was both poor in concept and in execution. The design of her gun looked more like a over-the-top hair drier that i would see in an fancy hotel.lol

And if she could theoretically turn anything gold with that, then she's pretty much financially set for life since she should just be shooting that thing all over inanimate objects to make a fortune for herself.lol

I think like her brother she gets a buzz out these criminal schemes.

Many comic book villains could be set for life using their powers legally.

Yes, she's even more psychotic than he is. She's actually closer to Heatwave in terms of temperament than her brother. So if HE gets off on being a criminal, then she definitely would.

iris/barry just seems fake...no chemistry
I feel like Grant makes it seem believable on his end, but even last week, I found it hard to believe Iris loved him too, and it was that moment that I knew they were going to reverse it with time travel.

Really, the only problem I have here is Lisa's stupid gold-gun? Would it have really been too hard to give her frictionless skates, or even a gun to create frictionless surfaces. The gold gun is just random and, as others said, creates a huge plot hole.

Well they COULD have maybe progressed the Barry/Iris thing at least a little bit. But then they decided to hit the giant reset button at the beginning of this episode. And now we're back to "relationship drraaamma," and it's just as tedious as it's always been.

As a longtime CW viewer, I was expecting it. In all honesty, I don't know when she will find out he's the Flash or when they will hook up, but I know it won't be happily ever after for a while. There is always going to be relationship drama.

"All That Glitters..."

Lisa says this just as she fires the weapon for the first time. It's a reference to the common phrase "All that glitters isn't gold"

SO - the gold gun - doesn't MAKE gold, just the appearance of it.

It would have been nice to have a throwaway line that it just looked like gold, or something. Even then, it's a silly gun and they could have done better. One of the failings of the episode.

Yeah! Like you know what would have been cool - if Lisa had said something like

"All that glitters..." right before she fired the weapon. indicating that - you know - it isn't gold. Commonly used phrase and all....

Oh waitaminute - she DID. :cwink:

Plenty of time to eventually separate her from her body, and give her an astral form that allows her to fly and move at extreme speeds. But they do kinda need to introduce her first. So I'm sure they will eventually evolve her into her current comic form, and thus give Cold even more motivation than before.

Some people are always just looking for full blown exposition. I thought it was neat that they said enough through having the character just be herself.

can someone explain this time travel to me? if barry went back in time, shouldn't there be two barrys? the one who belongs there and the one who traveled back in time? the way they did it doesn't make any sense, how can anyone say they handled it well?

Time Travel is so varied that every time a writer makes a time travel story they are making up their own rules. Some stories would have had two people. Some would theorize that if you time travel to a time when you are alive you'd inhabit your tim/self body (which is what they did here).

My bad, wasn't paying enough attention. (But, yeah, that was exactly what I meant. Good job, writers.)

What happened to Cisco's ninja skills?

You mean the ninja skills that weren't enough to take down scrawny Hartley? Yeah, Heatwave was always going to wreck him, and he was handcuffed. (He only got off one swing this time, and against Hartley, it was more brawling competently than ninja skills.)

P.S. If there was another example of Cisco being a fighter that I'm forgetting, please correct me.
