I hope the producers will reveal someday on what original plans they had for Barry during Season 2 of Arrow, back when they were originally planning on bringing him back to the show for another episode before they were given a pilot to fully develop his origins.

I mean if Barry was going to come back later on in Arrow, with his powers, then he would have solved most of Oliver's problems with Slade during the season finale.

Really enjoyed the pilot can't wait for the season to begin :woot:

I've tried really hard not to watch the pilot but my curiosity got the best of me. After seeing it with my own eyes I have to say its freaking awesome. I i'll probably have a second viewing and a third before it officially starts. Then when it airs on Tuesday sometime in October I'll be there at 8 o'clock on my couch because that's how good it was to me.

God, early word on this did NOT lie. The pilot is pretty astonishing. Great pace to it, they fit a lot of stuff in one episode, I read a few comics on The Flash lately, but not enough to know what the deal is with
Wells at the end of the episode, with the newspaper, can he see into the future, is he supposed to be EVILLLLLLLLLLLLL ? ^^

Gustin is awesome, Wesley Shipp as
his dad
(not sure if spoiler) is fantastic as well and the CG is really really impressive.

Did anyone else love the music that they played during the whole sequence with
Barry (in-suit) taking on the Weather Wizard's brother in the climax of the episode?
I thought it sounded pretty epic, even film worthy and it really helped elevate the feel of the scene imho.

I wonder what to make of that white symbol? A sign that they listened to feedback and will change it for the series? Or was this always planned, and it's used to distinguish time/universes a little easier or something? Either way, I'm excited, though I'm still fine with the red for the time-being.

Also, the end: Are we to assume that the vanishing Flash time-travelled to the Allens' household (since there was a yellow and red Flash, fighting presumably)? Is this Flashpoint we're dealing with, or a combination of COIE? So many possibilities because we don't know if we are dealing with a fixed time-line, multiple time-lines or what. Also, Wells hiding his broken legs makes me think he's a speedster (Eobard from the far future? If so, why is he helping Barry?)

Ok, I now want the show to run for 10 Seasons, and get to the point of that Newspaper article.

We can get 10 years in the show without 10 seasons, but I agree.

I thought a lot of the music in the episode stood out for me as being really good.

I thought this episode was amazing; the first half went on pretty fast but the second half felt lots better in pacing and it made up for it.
CGI was a bit floppy at some parts but nothing major.
They also changed his meeting with [BLACKOUT]Oliver, in the trailer he flipped off the building but now he only took a dive off of it[/BLACKOUT]

Also, in retrospect for those that have seen the pilot and for those that have issues with the pacing of it, do you guys think that Barry being first introduced to audiences and fans in Season 2 of Arrow helped the character or do you guys think that Barry could have still been introduced for the first time in the Pilot instead and still work?

He was going to be in one episode, and it would have basically just been this one... He wasn't going to have a traditional pilot originally, rather a backdoor pilot that would have led to a series

Being introduced on Arrow definitely helped, but I think there wouldn't have been any huge problems had he just been introduced in the pilot.

There's one scene that annoyed me that kinda messes up the continuity the tiniest bit possible, but yeah

From a story perspective, there's nothing we learned in the Arrow episodes that we didn't get here.

From a ratings perspective, I'm sure the show would have gained a sustainable viewership without the Arrow introduction, but with it, it'll mean somewhat higher ratings, which is why they did it. Most new shows don't have the luxury of taking place in the same universe as another one on the air with an existing fanbase. The Flash show does, so it makes sense to utilize that.

Really, really enjoyed the pilot. I agree with the people that have been saying that it was a bit uneven at times, but the sheer fun of the episode overcame that for me. And that ending.... yes, that'll do nicely.

That's the popular theory.

Rick Cosnett said that Eddie is a genuine nice guy, and things just seem to go well for him. The popular theory is that Wells, his descendant, is changing the timeline so things go great for Thawne. He becomes a star cop, gets the girl of his dreams, that kind of stuff.
Is Harrison Wells a character in the comics? Cuz ya I didn't really get the ending and its starting to bug me lol. This guy goes into the future and does something to make the Flash go missing?
What if Eddie Thawne is a misdirect, and he's just an ancestor, and Harrison Wells is really Thawne from the future. Might help explain the newspaper
Wasn't Wells speculated to be Chief from The Doom Patrol? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chief_(comics)

So yeah, that last scene of the pilot....

Keep doing your thing CW, keep doing your thing
I agree. Gustin was great.

OH MY GOD... The newspaper at the end.... Infinite Crisis!!! Also Wayne Tech/Queen Inc merger!!!

Plus Grodd Easter egg. This was full of so much win
Regarding that, [BLACKOUT]where was the Infinite Crisis stuff implied? So seeing as Batman along with Green Lantern pretty much exists, wouldn't it make more sense if that Newspaper was The Daily Planet? As for Grodd, I honestly don't know if that can be done.[/BLACKOUT]

Also, if you're going to discuss specific details from the leaked pilot, please use spoiler tags.

That was really good. There was some places I was totally fanboying. So many things I'm looking forward to.

Looks like they saw the complaints about the way Arrow jumps of the building. It was way better here than in the trailer. Great Pilot. Arrow and Flash...so awesome :D Hope they are part of the Justice League movie. I dont want to see anybody else in the suits!

Pilot was awesome.

The cheese didn't bother me in the flash like it sometimes did in Smallville and Arrow.

Woo!

[BLACKOUT]Screw the Darkseid/Infinite Crisis references in the last scene.

Classic symbol and a better suit confirmed!!![/BLACKOUT]

Overall I thought it was pretty good. Better than the first episode of Arrow which was melodrama central.

Infinite Crisis wasn't implied...Crisis on Infinite Earths was.
The newspaper mentions that The Flash disappeared in a 'crisis'.
In Crisis on Infinite Earths Barry dies/disappears and Wally becomes the new flash.

This was a fun episode
I played a game of this reminds me of that watching the episode
