The Flash The Flash General Discussion and Speculation Thread - Part 10

Keiynan was very boring. Hartley was a breath of fresh air. Sure he was goofy but I feel like the show needed some humor. I feel like he's going to be a rewritten version of Julian, in that they are going to possibly pair him with Caitlin.

I wonder why he is retiring from the Arrowverse. It sucks since Capt.Cold was not featured enough in The Flash. Flash biggest villains just disappear.

As I said in the LoT thread, this is a shame as we won't get a full Rogues Gallery now. Especially as his ep last season seem to hint he might have been eyeballing Argus' inmates as potential team. Double boo on this.

FLASH Facts: Blacksmith

Sad about Cold's exit. Leonard's scenes are the highlight of every episode, he's going to be missed.

There should've been a Captain Cold/ Killer Frost team up or duel.

I hope there's still a chance the writers came up with that idea right before he announced his retirement from the Arrowverse.

This season has dramatically improved over the last half of S3. The slow burn of Thinker's endgame is much more enticing than waiting for Barry to prove that he's faster than another speedster. I'm also digging Joe's mixed emotions on having another child at his age.

I'm surprised they didn't do that last time when he played at the end of season 3. They could easily have had a Cold/Frost duel, unless he teamed up with her because he thought she was badass.

I do want to see a full Flash-Frost-Vibe team up against some villains.

I would say the reason the Thinker mystery works better, is because the plot isn't in standby. Each episode so far, the heroes have done stuff and made progress. Its not just episodes of them waiting for the correct episode when they are allowed to have the next big event.

I've caught up with several scenes from the past few episodes.

Wow, this season is really starting to remind me of Arrow season 4 and I say that not as a compliment.

I hope they do something dramatic with the thinker soon because he has just been so bland and uninspiring in almost every episode that we have seen him in. And it doesn't help that he comes off as more of a big bad for a power rangers themed show.

And the villains that we have been getting in the last few episodes are just horrible. Badly cast and badly portrayed.

And then there is of course things like:

"You're not the flash Barry, we are." & "Hashtag feminism" moments.

Those are probably the lowest moments in the show's history.

I honestly don't see this season getting better if Arrow season 4 is a example to go by. We will probably get Iris complaining about something regarding her relationship to Barry in the second half before she divorces him while having a uninspired ending to Devoe's threat.

Oh yeah, a few pages ago I explained the similarities between Arrow season 4 and Flash season 4 so far and that was only a couple episodes in.

Both had strong premieres.

Both tried (at least Flash trying so far) having a lighter tone than the previous season.

The main villain was revealed in the first or second episode unlike previous season villains when he was revealed with his mask off.

Damien Dark was introduced so early just like the Thinker being introduced on the first episode.

After this controversial "Girl's Night Out" episode, you could easily start to compare season 4 Iris to season 4 Felicity.

But honestly IMO, this formula has worked with Flash season 4 much better than Arrow season 4.

DeVoe >>>> Damien too

That's a good way to phrase the situation. The show has effectively built the storylines this season in a manner that feels like there's no wasted motion.

Yikes. Crazy how there's at least one or two names being accused of sexual assault/harassment everyday of late

It's crazy how a lot of these people getting accused managed to get into positions where they have the power to just get away with these actions because their victims are afraid of what could happen to their careers, this is not something that should be tolerated and I'm glad this widespread issue in the industry is being brought into the light.

That's not just any breaking news...

Haven't read the article yet, but it'll be interesting to find out who accused him of harassment or who'll defend him.

No names yet. He's apparently admitted to physical contact with and comments to women but denied they were sexual in nature.

All it takes is a position of unchecked authority, and the right person to take advantage of it.

I'm telling you this is Evil!Prof. X just sitting there, talking. They don't show him do anything really. He does have this Rita Repulsive look down.

They are throwaway villains of the week, they sort of have to be.

Notice Iris was involved with all of those. Nothing involving any final battles or solving anything she's equipped to.

I feel like it has to play out in order for anything to improve on the show. The writers have to get this incestuous WA garbage and Iris slobbering out of the way. Season 4 should be their last hurrah otherwise the show is finished, they are becoming an embarrassment to watch. I smell a divorce coming soon as an act of desperation to salvage all that's still good about the show.
