Hi all, long time lurker, finally got around to signing up.

Pretty sure that the perception thing is a separate ability, that while linked to his speed, doesn't have to be in effect at the same time.

There have been several incidents since the beginning directly implying that everything does not slow down for him.

In the first episode when he first gets his powers, Barry is shocked when he tries to take a few steps and runs across the alley and smashes through the back of the car.

Also when he rescues people from the burning building, he over-shoots a turn by 6 blocks.

If everything was slowed down for him, and he perceives himself running normally, these kind of things wouldn't happen.

However this is just an observation, I could be wrong.....

You make a good point. They are not exactly aligned. But Barry has had to use it in order to control his speed (taking the right corner, not running into walls etc...). Guess we'll never know exactly how it works but your suggestion is a good one (you too Spooderman).
Just as we don't know how he has the strength to pick up people and run with them or how they can go from 0-600mph without severe whiplash.

Great show and it doesn't really bother me.

Can't wait to find out who's body was in the ground I'm leaning towards it being the real Harrison Wells. It's goona be interesting to see Barry find out about Eoboard and what he really is and up to I think the particule accelerator is gonna play a big part in the season finale or towards the end of the seaso.

Part of the Flash' powers are his ability to think at super speeds. Or else he would have killed himself by now.
Things don't slow down for him really. The flash can perceive his speed. Why do you think he's trying to run faster? He isn't working on slowing time down. Also, he wouldn't be able to go back in time if all he could do is slow down time. At most he would be able to freeze time. His super speed basically allows him to step out of time and reality and move forward and backward in time. He enters the speedforce when he does this.
Another thing to prove my point is what you mentioned. Him over running his target by 6 blocks. If he slowed down time and felt like he was running at normal speed how would he overshoot something by six blocks? typically 8 blocks equals a mile. So that's almost a full mile to run past something and not realize it.

Yep.

Mind the crudeness of these images since I don't have a scanner on hand. But basically he can see everything before it happens and conceptualize every possible outcome and do something about it before anyone even notices.

So we have Flash, Arrow, and Firestorm Vs. Reverse-Flash. Only thing missing is Atom Ray Palmer and Black Canary Dinah Laurel Lance so we can have a DC TV version of the JL.

Also cool to see Stephen and Robbie Amell working together.

Apparently this is for episode 21. Episode 22 is supposed to be the Rogue Air episode, so I guess the Rogues will be back in full force for that one.

Very exciting. But I was hoping that Barry would have to face RF alone. The flash is so much better than Arrow. I hate how, when they do merge, they seem to favor Arrow a lot more. I'm sure that'll change.
The Arrow storyline is going downhill. It seems like they had a good idea of where to go at the beginning but now they have over done it with the amount of superheroes. Black Canary being the worst. Terrible actress and unbelievable storyline ruined that character.

Hopefully Flash will learn from those mistakes. But I hate seeing a great show like this mixed with a show that's so blah

Nice team-up, I gotta feeling Zoom has a trump card up his sleves. He told Barry back when they first met he's always been one step ahead of him. So I'm pretty sure he's got a contingency plan in motion for his EndGame.

He probably has the ability to control his perception, so running great distances wouldn't seem like hours for him, but if he needs to move fast and precise he slow everything down.

I tend to think that "radical alterations to how the brain works" is one of those required secondary powers that all speedsters have, much like how bricks have the power of "stuff not falling apart under its own weight".
